My car's transmission went last night. Really went. It's so bad the tires locked up. It took the tow truck an hour to get off his truck at our house! Anyway, I thought we would have to just junk it and I thought, what the heck, I'll put it on Craigslist. I listed it for $500 or best offer. I can't keep track of the the emails I'm getting! One guy is coming tonight to look at it, 2 others tomorrow, maybe a 3rd. It's a lot different than putting a sign in the yard. Someone comes by, offers you money, you take it or you don't. With this situation, I want to be fair to everyone interested. So, here's where I need advice:
I'm thinking of telling everyone who comes to see it today and tomorrow to make an offer if they want it and then after that, obviously sell it to whoever "bids" the most. Does that sound good and fair? I can't think of any other way to handle it.

It sounds like you are "auctioning" the car and your best bet would be to tell your "lookers" that as well.
If you have a set price in your mind, why not just come out and state that price? First one to hand over the cash gets the car. It's your deal, though, not mine.

![]() you can say OBO in your ad they can use it for parts for their car or part it out. ![]() If you wanted to rebuy this same model and had a place to keep the car on your property, you could use the parts yourself.![]() A junker here goes for $200 if you take it to the salvage yard, $75 if they come for it. ![]()

I sold it to the first guy who came. He really seemed like that's why he was trying to get here fast. Plus, it turns out his daughter plays on my daughter's softball team. I like to sell to people I know. He offered me the $500 so I sold it to him. Thanks guys!

If you wanted to rebuy this same model and had a place to keep the car on your property, you could use the parts yourself.
