Entry form requesting Cell Phone Numbers
If seems that more and more entries are asking for your cell phone number. I can understand the need for this if you check the box asking for text messages.
But, I do not like giving out my cell number as I do not have unlimited text and do not want text from sweeps. If it is optional I do not fill it in but if it is a required field, can I put in my home phone number? Can the sponsor tell if it is a cell or land-line number? What is the point of requiring a cell phone number --- also, I am sure there are still some people out there that do not have personal cell phone.

I use my Google Voice number, though FWIW I never get calls or text messages.

If you would like an invite, send me a PM.

Not only do you incur an expense if they call you on your cell, it's bothersome. If the entry requires a mandatory number, I give my land line number. I haven't run into any problems (so far) Luck to all.

If it asks for a phone number I give my cell number, if it aska for a cell number I give my magic jack number. The only thing I can think of for them wanting a cell number is to send texts.

I just got a spam text from Warner bros yesterday and I replied "stop", don't know if it does any good, but hoping I don't get any more since I use a pay as you go and texts are far fron free.

I have never heard of google voice that two people have mentioned. Guess I need to check into it. Thanks!

I have no problem using my home number where a cell number is requested, just don't want the added expense of calls and text on my cell. IF that is being accepted is what I do not know?

I know a lot of people don't have a problem with it, but I will not give my cell number to a sweepstakes. I'll try to enter my land line where it asks for cell ... if it dq's me, fine. If it won't take it, fine. There are lots of other contests to enter.

I don't have a cell phone. I always put in my landline phone number. Never seems to be a problem.

I *only* have a cell phone, so it doesn't make any difference to me!

I always use my landline number. If the form asks for both home and cell numbers, I put 000-000-0000 for my cell number. The forms always submit using zeros for my cell, but I have no idea if I'm disqualified by doing that.

My cell phone has an 866 number and many times it wouldn't take and said was not a real number! Also, my cell doesn't have text so if they send one, I don't get it! Most of the time I leave it blank or put in my landline phone number.

I don't enter sweeps that absolutely require cell phone numbers.

There are only 6 people in the world who have my cell number,
and I plan to keep it that way!
