Go and don't drink. I know being pregnant is uncomfortable, but I am sure you could hang in there until midnight. It's all about being with friends when the clock strikes 12, not just partying.

How about having a small group of friends over for the night and you can still be with your friends and they can go clubbing after midnight if they choose to do so.

Could you do a cool fun restaurant? In a section that is away from the bar? I know that we did some local ones that celebrated and were full but it was reservations and no one running wild to bump you.

We did an Irish pub in the restaurant section one year (local place NOT a chain) and Benihana before that.

Might be an option.

But what are you thinking? What are you feeling that you want to do? Maybe we can help with your instinct on what you want to do.

Just have a potluck at your house.
Tell everyone to bring an appetizer to share and BYOB. It will be fun for everyone.

True, true. Do you have any friends that host parties at their house on New Year's Eve? That would be more low key and safe. Either that or have something at your home.

When I was pregnant on New Year's Eve, we went out to dinner and then stopped on the way home to see friends that were celebrating out for about an hour. At that point, the smell of alcohol started making me sick and I was ready to go home and relax and watch a movie I picked up earlier in the day. I can guarantee you I was home sleeping long before midnight.

Red face Here's a few off the wall suggestions.
1. Decide your baby's name on January 1, 2010 during the count down to midnight. Then you can tell your baby that's when you decided to name he or she.

2. Take a photo of you being PG with the New York Times Square count down ball on TV setting off the beginning of the new year.

Whatever you decide, The Best of Luck to you and yours!

You can lift up to 20 pounds pregnant unless your dr orders otherwise...I am 31 weeks pregnant so I know I will not be doing anything for New Yrs other than sitting on the couch .

Stay home, get comfy, then start the New Year off with a "bang" if ya know what I mean!
