I just got out of the hospitol and....
I have mono! For the past 2 days I have been getting really bad sharp pains in my stomache. Well this morning it was so bad I went to the hospitol as soon as I sent the kids off to school. They took blood, did an ultrasound and apparently I have mono and my liver enzymes are up which is what is causing my stomache pains. I have no idea how I even got this. This explains why I have been so tired lately though. Well Im off to lay in bed cause they got me on pain killers which are really making me loopy.

Mono can be serious..especially if your liver starts acting up. Milkshakes can really help get your strength back. I hope you feel better soon.

The only meds I was given was hydrocodone for the pain and was told to rest as much as I can. Basically stay in bed.

Our oldest DD had mono at the start of her 3rd grade school year a couple years ago. I remember she also complained about pain in the same area. They didn't give her any pain meds though. She missed the first 3+ weeks of school - and it took her a while to get her strength back.

Get better soon.

they gave your morphine and then you took some other kind of pain medicine...

Can you have perhaps a nice hot cup of tea and let your body rest...

Hope you're doing better. All I could think of when you said that was I hope you have some carpet cleaner to spray on the spot and that your vacuum is fixed. Look on the bright side: maybe the fleas will leave if they don't like the smell.

If your liver function is high you could have Hepatitis and/or pancreatitis, so be very watchful!!! Hepatitis goes hand in hand with mono and then will go into pancreatitis. My stepdaughter was hospitalized for 4 days when she was 13.

If you aren't keeping anything down, go back to the hospital and have them check for pancreatitis, it is very painful and very dangerous!!

Mr: I love you. You are the love of my life. I will live and die in your arms.

I hope you're feeling better.

Hydrocodone can make you nauseous. Did they give you plain hydrocodone or with acetaminophen? Vicodin?

Acetaminophen (tylenol) is really, really toxic to your liver. If it's healthy, it can handle a normal dose, but if your liver is already having a hard time acetaminophen would be one of the worst things to put in your body.

Rest and feel better soon!

My daughter had mono back when she was in jr. high school. I think that is the sickest she has ever been, she had hardly no energy, and was very ill. They always call it the "kissing disease" and my daughter freaked when she got it, thinking that people would think that. But believe me this poor girl didnt kiss anyone then and I dont know where she got it!! Also the hydrocodone makes my husband very sick, to the point of throwing up. They can give you something with it to keep it from making you ill, if you call. Or they might try another pain med. Hope you get to feeling better. Get plenty of rest.
