Can you use Draino when you have a garbage disposal?

Can I use Draino, or any pipe cleaner like that in my sink that has a garbage disposal hooked to it? I suppose it would be OK. I just want to make sure. My disposal doen't sound clogged, and seam to be running alright, but my sink keeps filling up while I'm using it, and it takes alittle while for it to dran.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

NO DRANO---chemical hell....

Simply put some baking soda and some vinegar , it will fizz and bubble and clear the drain without putting chemicals in our water supply...

If that does not work, get -rent - a snake and snake the drain ....again, safe and good for our water....

Thank you jordan, I will do that! I can't use the snake because the garbage disposal is in the way, but I will definatly try the baking soda and vinegar instead of the poison.

google the ratio....I think HIllbilly site has it and the clark howard site...

You can also try filling the sink with hot water and a little dish soap, then unplug it and turn on the disposal as all that water flushes down, it helps clean it out.

Actually that's what I've been doing all day. I'm trying to do dishes and the sick keeps filling with hot water / soap, and draining slowly.
