I don't enter for a lot of things because I don't want to win something that someone else would love to win. I enter for things that I am really excited at the idea of winning for myself or for my friends or family.

I make sure not to enter for trips, cars, etc....if I know that I can't afford the taxes etc...that would just depress me. I also keep a notebook of my wins and what sponsor it's from in case they have a rule about only winning every certain amount of weeks, months and such like our local radio station wins, you can only win those every 3 months so you don't disqualify yourself by entering and you aren't eligible.

Put a lot of time into finding local sweeps. Locals are much easier to win and they do have lots of good prizes. Check the websites of local radio stations, tv stations, local food chains, etc.

I enter lots of local contests, like radio and TV for my area. Many of them have contests on their websites. I enter every chance I can. I have won lots of things the last few years, such as movie passes and concert tickets. In fact for the month of May, I won passes to 2 movies and concert tickets to Bryan Adams and front row to see George Strait. This is one of the best months I have had in a long time. I love free entertainment!!!

My tip would be that one has to be very patient and enter lots and lots of sweeps. Get a premium membership, enter faithfully and I promise you will win!

My favorite thing about sweeping is the OLS community. The contests can be found lots of places, but the sharing with so many online (and in-person) friends, the joys, the heartaches, the tech tips, the laughs, the codes, the losses, etc.... are priceless. I haven't found this in any other site. I enjoy you all! The good, the bad and the ugly!!!!

Always check for the local sweeps, check local radio and TV station websites, too. I've won several smaller prizes like movie tickets, concert tickets, books and CD's that way.

Enter snail mail sweeps - especially if that is the only method of entry - great odds!

My best sweeping tip - Never give up....This last year or so has been kind of slow. The year before that I won my favorite prize - a truck.....I know my time will come again for a very nice win. Just keep trying...

The best tip I would give a newbie is to enter the more difficult or less desirable method sweeps, ie. blogs, trivia, essays. There is a smaller pool of people entering therefore a better chance to win!!

My favorite sweepstake win has to be my Nikon digital camera! I use it all the time!

Cool prize! The best tip is to sign up for the premium because its well worth it especially since Brent has spent so much time on this site so its donating for his efforts. And, patience is the name of the game. Keep plugging away and you'll eventually hit the lucky one!

I have never been to the convention. My current favorite win was a TV but winning a trip to the convention would so top that! PARTAY!!!

I have a couple of tips.

1. Get the premium membership.

2. Read the notes for hints, codes and useful shortcuts.

3. Looks at winner's threads for post times. There are some reoccurring times that are imporant.

4. Enter instants every day. Better chances for a win.

5. If you get burned out. Do something else and come back. It is just a HOBBY.

The best tip I have for winning - do what others don't want to do. Enter snail mail sweeps, give the blogs a try, make video entry, write an essay, create a recipe.
