Question Women only--please tell me there are other reasons for breast tenderness
and tingling besides pregnancy.
The only time I remember having symptoms like this was when I was pregnant.
I have been more emotional and my sense of smell and taste have been heightened but I can't go by missing a period since I've had the Mirena IUD for the past three years and haven't had any periods for a couple of years. Could it be menopause, maybe?

I get breast tenderness when my monthly comes around. To be on the safe side though, get checked by your doctor. The IUD could have moved.

It can be a sign of menopause or peri-menopause.

It can also be a sign of a neck injury ( I never knew this until I was diagnosed with neck/back/nerve problems)

I had that so bad once I went to the Doc. and he said that caffeine can do that. I cut back and had no more trouble.

I don't usually drink coffee and don't drink sodas or tea so caffeine can't be the culprit.

It could be pre menopause. I started getting nightsweats and breast tenderness starting around 37, I'm 47 now. My periods are erratic even though I've been getting it monthly since Feb. , but that could change.

The breast tenderness feels like lactation except your not leaking . . You need to rule out pregnacy first however.

I have to wait 'til August 11th to see the gyne, so I guess I'll find out then. I am going to ask that they remove this IUD then and maybe schedule a hyst/o and/or lap since I am having all kind of abdominal pain lately--maybe it's the endo acting up again.`
Thanks for all the responses!

I think you should pee on the stick.

Hmm--maybe this week. I am just too scared to see the result.

Breast tenderness....
That was my first symptom of being pregnant with both of my pregnancies, other than missing my period. There's only one way to tell....take a test. I understand you are nervous, but you are just going to sit around wondering, might as well go ahead and find out. Good luck!

I agree. Take the home test.

I will say that I recently had the really tender breasts and I was thinking
hum, a peri -menopause baby? Ended up with a very yucky heavy dot.

I had a neighbor when I was a teenager who gave birth to her last child
a beautiful girl. Our neighbor was a pe teacher and fit. She was 52 or 53
when her last baby was born.

I pray all is okay with you. Could mean so many things. Definitely should get checked. I know you said you don't do caffeine as in coffee or sodas, but what about chocolate? A lot of women get breast pain from chocolate too.

Of course it can mean pregnancy.

However, I have had a tubal and had horrible "symptoms" since having it 3 years ago (wish I would have never got it to be honest from all the pain it has caused). This last year my breasts get so tender for about 2 weeks straight before I have a period. If they even touch something it feels very painful. My periods are 3 weeks apart one month and 5 weeks apart the next. I have horrible pains in my pelvic region for the 2 weeks before my periods and usually have horrible morning sickness, puking, etc for the week before my periods now and it feels like I have gallbladder attacks at that time too. Lots of other symptoms too, but I really think I am just beginning menopause. Too bad the doctors I have visited here so far all think it is impossible at my age (42) and won't run any tests.

It could also be benign cysts. I have them and they are very tender.

I bought a new bra awhile back and it was more supportive than the other ones I had been wearing and it caused those sort of symptoms while my body was getting used to it.
