What kind of help are you looking for from them in regards to your wife being pregnant?

Remember, they are in it to make money, so if you are looking say for a non-rider ticket that might be cheaper, there is none. You have to suck it up and buy the regular tickets...
How far along is she? No matter how far along, you would probably want to get the park hopper tix, so that you can get to the parks early, leave around noon, back to the hotel for a cool down (nap, and feet up!) and back to the parks in the evening. WIth the park-hopper, you can go to say MGM in the AM, and EPCOT in the evening and see the fireworks.
the next day do Magic Kingdom in the AM and MGM in the evening.... etc. SHe will need the mid day rest!!

I have heard that they give specials to newlyweds etc so i thought that they might do the same for expecting mothers. She will be around 3 months when we go , She won't be able to ride many rides so we are going to do shows and other stuff, We are going to be in Orlado for 6 days , We will probably do the park thing 4 days alread have one day disney pass for each of us. We will probably sight see the other 2 days , What other activitives around Orlando are fun, Thought about everglade tour or something of that nature. We are not expecting it to be cheap by anymeans just looking for ways to save a little money. The park tickets are going to be the most expensive so thats what we are trying to save money on.

take care

OF the many trips to Disney since 1977 I have taken, I have never heard of anything special they do for expectant mothers..... I would think it would be hard for Disney to ask for "proof" of the baby in order to get the discounts... Espcially of those women who gain very little weight. And also, on the flip-side, the larger women who might look pregnant, might get insulted if they ask them if they fall into that discounted catagory.

About the other things to do in Orlando... Its so costly to do the parks, Disney, Universal, SeaWorld we honestly save our money and stay on-site Disney at the nicest hotel we can afford and buy the park hopper tix and just relax. One week at the Yacht and Beach CLub with their great pool and the parks is plenty for us.

However, my kids like Universal (more thrill rides) but even when we go there, we just stay on-site one night, and the kids park hop and I lounge and nap by the pool.

Sea World... been there, done that. It was fine.

We have never had any interest in doing the Arabian Nights type shows. So no advice there.

I guess after thinking about it, we really just like to do Disney at a nice hotel and relax, do 2 parks a day with a rest in the middle, and swimming and dining at EPCOT at night.

Plus driving in Orlando gives me a headache!

Hi, Justin. The Everglades are south of Miami near Homestead (where Hurricane Andrew hit). They are nowhere near Orlando. It is a loooong trip to get there. I've lived in Orlando for over 20 years and I've only been to the Everglades once (on a long holiday weekend trip).

There are some smaller attractions here in the area that only take a few hours to see and they are a lot cheaper to visit. They can be a lot of fun. Also, if you look online at their sites or in tourist type magazines when you arrive, you can often find discount coupons, even BOGO for them. Some that we've enjoyed visiting:

Gatorland: http://www.gatorland.com/

Leu Gardens (used to be free on Monday mornings, so it still might be!): http://www.leugardens.org

Jungle Adventures Nature Park (you can see Florida Panthers here): http://www.jungleadventures.com/

September is also "Orlando's Magical Dining Month" www.orlandomagicaldining.com/

You can get great meals at selected restaurants at $19 or $29. Salad/appetizer, entree and dessert. It is usually worth the money. Some restos in Universal are participating, i'm not sure if Disney restos are though... You may also want to get an entertainment.com book. I am sure their 2008 books are going for a discount since they expire this November 2008. This may help with the food expenses.

For Disney tickets, try craigslist.org and look at Orlando. I found some listing for some tickets there before, though i'm not sure how reliable and credible the sellers are... maybe ebay.com would be a better bet.

Good luck and have fun in Orlando!

Thanks everybody, I looked up the entertainment book you mentioned but could not find any 2008 ones for orlando listed, I tried to call them and they had me on hold for around 20 minutes so i will try back later. I will look into the free dining thing and see if we can use it. I also was wondering what is the best route to drive? Anyone ever drive from Tn , Va. I live in Bristol Tn , which is right on the border of Tn , Va and NC . Our only trip to Disney we took I 26 and then I 95 to Orlando , It took us around 12 hours to get there. My wife suggested trying I 40 into Atlanta and then taking I 75 , what do you think?

It shows shorter drive time using I-95

Here is the route using i 75 , I know from experience that the drive times are not accurate due to road work and traffic going through large cities etc, Just looking for opinions =)

I just looked at the magical dining , Do you have to make reservations or can you walk in at most of the resteraunts and order from the magical dining menu? My wife likes Emeril so we may try to eat at his resteraunt. Which resteraunts on the list do you like??

I live the burb's ouside Memphis and have driven to ORlando more than once. Believe it or not the fastest was me driving the whole way in one day with three teens (under drivable age) with me. The fastest way for me to get there is due east 78 to I 20 to Atlanta, then straight down I75, the to Floridas Turnpike to Orlando. About 800 miles, according to Google. It took me 12 hours door to door. We are "high effieciency" travellers. No extra stops, you get gas while the kids run next door to pee and pick up something from McDonalds.

Google says its 676 miles for you and should take 10 hours 26 minutes, via the I 95 route. and it says the I 75 route is longer....

Our best travelling thru Atlanta, and then southward all the way to the Florida border is Sunday morning, but if you cant do that, any time immed AFTER rush hour.

From past experiece, that Atlanta to Orlando can take 5.5 to 6.5 hours, all depending on construction and accidents.

Hope this helps a little.
