Angry This Is What A Crossing Guard Does!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In case you are wondering if a crossing guard is a cop- or wanna piss and moan about one of them slowing you down- read what happened here JUST FRIGGIN' YESTERDAY!

Dianna L. Sharp pushed or shielded an 8-year-old boy crossing the street, saving him as a dump truck passed through a school zone.
The 8-year-old boy lay in an intensive care unit bed last night, swathed in bandages, hooked to machines and comforted by relatives. The injuries were serious, but he was alive. He has Dianna L. Sharp to thank.

Dianna Sharp gave her life- in a JOB that was 2 hours a day- 5 days a week at 10 dollars an hour. A JOB.

The 8-year-old boy lay in an intensive care unit bed last night, swathed in bandages, hooked to machines and comforted by relatives. Second-grader Christian Engle, suffering broken bones and a concussion, hardly stirred. He held his mother's hand with his left hand, the good one. Much of his right side wasn't so fortunate.
The injuries were serious, but he was alive. He has Dianna L. Sharp to thank.
Sharp took her role as a Hilliard school crossing guard seriously.
As the crossing guard at Scioto-Darby Elementary School, she would usher her young charges safely across Scioto Darby Road each morning and again each afternoon, parents and neighbors said.
And some of those children would take the short walk to Sharp's home after school, where she would keep them safe until their parents could pick them up, they said.
Yesterday, shortly after 9 a.m., Sharp paid the ultimate price as a protector of those children.
Realizing that a dump truck bearing down on her and Christian was not going to stop, Sharp either pushed the second-grader clear or shielded him with her own body as the truck slammed into them in a crosswalk in front of the school, Hilliard Police Chief Rodney Garnett said.
Sharp, 41, was flown to Ohio State University Medical Center with severe head injuries. She died there at 10:20 a.m.
Christian's condition had improved from critical to poor last night at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
"She went to swoop him to break the impact," parent Ginger Swank said. "I believe she saved that little boy's life."

The lack of skid marks, seen from Chopper 10, suggested that Watkins never slammed on his brakes. The trucker told investigators he was driving the posted school zone speed limit, 10TV News reported.
"He wasn't (driving) 20 mph because there was no way because her body went hurtling," said a woman who saw the crash and requested anonymity.
The woman said she did not know how the trucker could have missed a crossing guard who was wearing a bright vest and carried a stop sign while guiding a child across the street.
"He threw his hands up and said, 'I didn't see her,'" the woman said. "We were like, 'How could you not see her? She was in the middle of the road,'"

So....the idiot was speeding through a SCHOOL ZONE in a hurry-couldn't be slowed down by the fact lights were flashing and cars and people and KIDS were everywhere...what a self-centered ass- I hope they thrown the bokk- hell, the LIBRARY of books at this loser.

She never thought twice about what she needed to do yesterday morning at 9 am. She made a sacrifice that was far greater than anything most people will EVER do in their entire lives.

Rest in peace, Diana, rest in peace- you are with the angels now.

That is so sad. I really don't know what to say other than I'm thankful that the little boy lived so that she didn't give her life in vain. It's an odd coincidence that this would happen this week after the other thread was posted giving crossing guards such a hard time. I've always been very thankful of the job that crossing guards do. Anybody that keeps my child safer is much appreciated.

I'm speechless. What an unselfish display of love. I hope the truck driver is charged with murder.

Yes, I agree completely.

Thank you for posting this. What a selfless, wonderful, heroic woman. May she RIP.

How sad.......Something like that happened here in CT a while back but I dont remember the details.

WTH is wrong with people that they cant pay attention to what is going on around them. You are in a school zone, be prepared to slow down and STOP!!

I know- when it was on the news last night it made me cry. That rarely happens.

Sad and scary, and very timely in light of the other thread, which seems to be gone now.

Thank you for sharing that.
