Absolute Best Hair Straightening Tool?
I want to get my DD a hair straightening iron or tool for her Christmas.

Her nice ceramic one we bought years back at the beauty supply store 'konked out'.

She has beautiful wavy long hair but sometimes she likes it straight.

Anybody have some idea of the best hair straightening iron or tool that they have used?

Beauty supply
DD uses HAI,or CHI (is that a kind of tea) think thats it.. Sometimes they conk out, somtimes they last and last. DD is rough on everything, so if lasts more than a month, that's good. I THINK I saw Target online has the $$$ ones now, for like 79 bucks. If you can get free shipping, not bad.

The HAI is a beauty supply type. Works great.

For stick-straight 'surfer girl' long hair, a few empty soda cans (with both ends cut off) and some bobby pins used to work for me. Roll wet hair in as many cans as will fit the head, fasten with bobby pins and let dry for several hours. I do not recommend this method for bedtime use, however.

On HSN, they showed Maximus hair straightener - you can use it close to the scalp - no burn and they claim it is the best hair straightening tool.

I see infomercials on good irons, too.

Is there any one better than others?

Keep in mind, I have no basis of comparison, I have a Farouk Chi Nano and it is sooooo nice. My hair is straight but it has a teeny bit of wave. This iron gives me silky, swingy "Jennifer Anniston" hair. I adore it. Ive seen some on eBay for around 70 bucks. They are spendy if you buy them in store. I won mine.

I use the Remington Wet 2 Straight. It's only about $25. I'm sure there are better ones out there.

I have really thick, curly, frizzy hair and this thing makes it so straight and smooth. I just get out of the shower, towel dry, and straighten. I can't straighten my hair if it's dry. It just doesn't work.

I have this same one only I dry my hair before I use it. It gets really hot so it straightens fast and you can do a larger ssection of hair at one time. It also closes around the hair securely and it's built sturdy. Works great for me and the price is right.

I keep seeing this advertised and keep hearing great things about it. I chemically straighten my hair but when it starts to grow out (and it's too soon to straighten again), I have to use a round brush AND straigtening balm/gel AND sometimes STILL have to use a flat iron. It would be nice if I could eliminate one of these steps!
