Troppo Lotto, is it worth doing?
Does anyone else do that Troppo Lotto each day? Do you think it is worth the time? http://tl.trancos.com

Stopped doing most lottos a while ago, then started again a few months back - while I collected a couple $5 checks from them, Troppo is one I left off the list. Pretty sure the prize structure was reduced, saw too many posts (elsewhere) about difficulty collecting, and what I mainly remember about them is lots of spam. Cute lotto game tho.

Lottos are so much like Keno and casino odds for Keno (I believe) are even worse than the coin-hungry slots --.

I can't speak from any winning experience here, certainly, (just play them now and then) -- but my instinct is that since Lottos only have to pay off in the most extreme longshot of times, that means winners and wins are a very small percentage of the whole -- That they can only operate because there are so many people anxious to believe the astronomical odds against winning BIG will magically reverse -- just for them -- to make them millionnaires. One guy will be right and the other 10 billion hopefuls spending hours and hours for that slim chance, lol, will be wrong.

Don't quote me but I see them as marketing scams that waste your time -- that the odds of winning at least something nice increases in inverse proportion to its cash value often and that Win-value Time is better spent in "real" contests.

That the good "windfalls" contests, like the HGTV house, are on a short list -- and the most reliable wins will always be delivered by well-known "other business" COMPANIES (Quaker Oats, Pepsi, etc.) -- not just a CONTEST COMPANY (i.e. Advertising -- Marketing -- Sales).

I would expect, in short, to do better in an Oscar Mayer contest (lol!) than a Winners R-Us contest.

Just my take on things, but can't prove a thing, lol.

Uh-oh, a quote - Toad is gonna shoot me now.

I'm retired and single, so as far as time goes I can do both. If I had to be more time-conscious, rather than dump the lottos entirely I'd more likely just be more selective - I'd dump half of them, and half of the sweeps I do too.

I avoid anything with the word "lotto" in it. However, if I check my e-mail folders, I probably have a few "invitations" to several of them.

I've collected about $400 to date from Freelotto.. all small checks over a 2 year period. Not bad for 5 minutes of my day.

Troppolotto: I got $5 a while back, but they've changed the prize structure as another poster mentioned. I haven't been there lately - site glitches and no way to store picks turned me off.
Never had a win from this one, but have played religiously since its debut. Old habits are hard to break I guess.

IMustLotto: Dead site now, but used to me one of my faves, odds were the best here, with their guaranteed cards. (Two years ago, they had a glitch, and a number was removed from the card every hour until there was only 6 left! They sent the money to all who played that hour - I think my share was about $3).
I'm a $50k winner on this one.. was sad to see it go.

Iwin/Uproar: Again, because they are selling their new automated entry service (LottoBot), they have made it more difficult to enter the old fashioned way (can't easy pick or save favorites anymore). But I did get $5 last year in the "old days".
Ne'er won this one.. but again.. play it using RoboForm since you can't store picks anymore.

Thanks all for responding to my question. I have now taken it off my list of sweeps to do. I also seem to have more confidence in sweeps from ligit companies.
