President Signs Hatch's Sex Offender Bill Into Law
Dated July 27, 2006
I found this as I was planning to write to my senator about the awful minimum wage/estate tax bill

Quote:
“This is a great victory for America’s children,” Hatch said. “And yet, it should be noted that we in Utah celebrate this victory in the shadow of a horrible injustice. The accused murder of 5-year-old Destiny Norton is a dark reminder that we need to do more to protect our children. With this new law, we will. Parents will know where convicted sex offenders are, and police will have the legal muscle to catch those who are hiding from us.”

:cheer7: This is a step in the right direction. I just hope they enforce it.

The Hatch Longer time behind bars for sex offenders might have been a more effective act. Wouldn't that be easier than trying to make new laws dealing with tracking.

I totally agree.

Being a *registered* offender with more than one previous conviction didn't stop this vile piece of garbage from murdering an 11 year old boy in my city this week, nor did it stop him hanging around inside a school as a "Family Representative".

Scumbags and liars won't change just because they have to sign a registry. Jail time doesn't change them either. They are what they are. And as far as I am concerned they should all be executed on Strike One.
