FTP Editor?

I REALLY need a SIMPLE (free) FTP editor. My site is FTP, and to make changes I use basic html. (not easy to start with)
I want to redo the site, but just the thought of doing all the html from scratch makes me shiver.
Anyone got any ideas, and please take simple at just that. I really mean SIMPLE.

I use note tab light, It has an html editor in it and is simple to use. Let me see if I can find a link. It is very basic if that is what you are looking for.

What you need is an html editor. FTP is a file transfer protocol and is used to upload and download files, not code web pages.

I use 1st Page 2000 by Evrsoft. They also have a newer version which includes a wysiwyg interface (so you don't have to modify the actual html code), but I don't think they've got all the bugs worked out yet.

ftp has NOTHING to do with html editing whatsoever except for the fact you can ftp your html files to your website.

That's exactly what I need to do ! And it's tiresome using the drag and drop method I have been using.

What do use now just your browser? Personally I've always used FlashFXP it does cost though after your trial. A lot people also like CuteFTP but I think FlashFXP is easier. Now if it has to be free I found this: http://www.coreftp.com/ I have no idea if it's any good but it might be worth a shot. Just to let you know every ftp program I've had experience with you have to drag and drop. That's something you can't rid yourself from because you have to select the files you want :-p .. but they do deffinately make it easier. Oh yes and to clear up things so people might have some more suggestions for you.. HTML is what you are creating your web pages in/ I'm guessing your using your browser ftp function to upload with now so he called it HTML. FTP is what you use to to upload your pages to your web server, change the permissions on your pages and stuff like that.

I think I know what you mean... I do quick editing with WSFTPpro - basic notpad type of editor built in, but allows you to edit and save without transfering.

I've used Cuteftp for years and love it. But you have to pay for it.
