Exclamation Email scam to Paypal users!
received an email that looked like it came directly from paypal with the blue logo and all. It asked to update my info (credit card, bank etc.) or I would be deleted from the system. I clicked on the link without filling out the info and it took me to some foreign website, looked arab or something. also clicked reply and it came back as undeliverable. watch out paypal users!!

Thank you for the warning.

I get similar emails from people that say my
AOL account info needs updating and the link
takes me to a site that asks for screen name
and password. The giveaway there is that there's
a link to download AOL 4.0, which is pretty much
useless. These scammers make me so angry. I hate
to think of how many people would give them information.

thanks for the heads up on BOTH these-sorry to see they are still around and still cheating innocent honest people. I'm half afraid to open email anymore! I have most likely deleted a win by now!

Another common scam is the AOL Insta Kiss of which I just got another one about 5 minutes ago.

Takes you to an official looking website complete with AOL logo and links.

These scamers are just trying to get your account name and passwork to get free internet access or to steal your identity.

A dead givaway is the url is usually geocities or another free web hosting site that has nothing to do with AOL.

Hope nobody out there has fallen for this... if so, change your password ASAP!

Aol has a disclaimer every time you log in that states: remember Aol will never ask for you password or any information, or something to that effect. You pretty much know you are being scammed if they do ask. I wonder if Aol and paypal can hunt these folks down and prosecute for identity theft?

BEWARE
This just happened to me and I found a number to call on PayPal website. I called, and the woman I spoke to asked me to forward her the email so she could see if it was from them or a scam. She
told me that she did not believe it to be an email from them, and since it might take several days for her to get back to me she
suggested that I go and change my password, which is exactly what I did.
Well less than 10 minutes later I got a email back from her, and this is what it said:
This is definately a scam email NEVER NEVER click on a link in an email of this type. If you have not already gone through the password change do so immediately. It is possible that someone has gained password information from this email.
How scary is that, people beware thank god I called before
entering any info.
