Fattest man in the world..
By Phil Stewart

ROME (Reuters) - A Mexican man who at 550 kg (1,200 lb) is possibly the heaviest person in the world hopes to travel to Italy for a life-saving operation to shed weight.

Manuel Uribe, bedridden for the past five years, cannot stand on his own and will need a special flight to take him from Monterrey, Mexico to Modena, where a surgical team has offered to perform an intestinal bypass free of charge.

Wow. No matter the reason he is so heavy, my heart breaks for him. I'm glad he has found someone to help him.

I'm going through a gastric bypass surgery this month.
I hope the surgery works well for him.
I hope No one makes fun of him on here.
Certain people just have health issues and can't be helped.

Good Luck, Manuel :gvibes: :gvibes:

I consider you all my friends. I don't have time for the friend thing. But thank you for thinking of me all the same

A good friend of mine just had gastric by-pass yesterday....It's hard making that life altering decision, but this man certainly needs the life change. I pray all goes well for him and he lives happily ever after!

For some people obesity surgery is the last chance to have a normal life, and should be an accepted treatment just as a heart bypass is for someone with heart disease. I fought the disease of obesity for over 40 years before having the Duodenal Switch surgery almost 2 years ago. I have lost 150 lbs. and have never been happier or healthier. I hope this gentleman has equally good results.
