Move Over, Cindy: Bush Singles Out Other Military Mom
I thought this was against military regulations after the Sullivans in WWII, but here's an Idaho mom whose husband and five sons have all served in Iraq:

I'm glad he isn't using this family for political gain.

It's only wrong if they don't agree with you!

Remember, there are two sets of rules - one for them, one for everyone else!

The title to this post is instructive.

If someone said "Wow - what a sacrifice this family has made" that's one thing. I think everyone would agree.

However, that is not how this is being used.

It's being used not as a celebration, or something noteworthy or interesting - but only as a means to attack Cindy Sheehan.

The title even mentions her first.

See, they don't really - deep down inside - believe the stuff they say. They don't honor this woman or her family; not any more than their false "ihonor cindysheehan'sloss" nonsense.

That goes for Bush and everone on down the chain.

I wonder why they hate one woman so much. I wonder why they fear her, and why their leader is a coward.

They fear having to face the truth.

My point exactly. Not one original idea or thought from the right. It's funny really  Couldn't come up with an original protest or idea if their lives depended on it.

So easy to say when it's just a hypothetical. I truly hope she never has to prove those words.

I find it rather distasteful that Bush so easily brushes off Sheehan by saying because the families he talks to don't agree with her, her feelings can't be real. Or they just don't count. Then again, here's a guy who thinks 51% is a mandate, so I guess it's to be expected. :worry:

Bush only wants a military mom around that agrees with him, not one that may challenge his agenda. He lives in an echo chamber hearing only his own voice, and those who will echo what likes to hear.

Sweepy:sleep2:

bush will only speak to audiences that are screened, and now will only speak to families that are pro bush/war. he is also going to 'red' states with a large majority of republicans. he thinks that the rest don't know what he is doing and why he is doing it.

although the 'liberal' media is playing his speech and applause ad nauseum, there is little coverage from the 'liberal' media about the growing number of demonstrations outside from where he speaks. yup, real liberal media.

these protesters are not just peace-niks, they include military, ex military, 9/11 families, and families who have lost a loved one in iraq. :frown3:

I heard FOUR sons.

And the Sullivans all served on one ship when they died, didn't they? So the US no longer puts an entire family in any one particular combat zone.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...
