Price for internet service
I am looking to get internet service and am wondering what is a reasonable price. I only have a cell phone so I am thinking cable would be cheaper than adding a phone line and internet service. What do you pay?

We have direcway, it's expensive, but I think it's worth it. we had to pay 500.00 to get it hooked up and we pay 60.00 a month. we can't get high speed internet where we live and dial up is just not an option when we are talking about sweeping

I do not have a land line either, just a cell phone. I have Comcast internet plus basic TV cable. It is cheaper for internet/plus basic cable than just internet alone. About $58 per month. It's good but--lately Comcast has been slow & having outages.

We have Comcast cable internet. SInce we're also cable tv customers, they knock $10 month off yoru internet bill. It's around $45 mo. We can't get DSL here, so if we want broadband, cable is our only option.

I have comcast, and except for 3 times earlier this month I haven't had a problem.
Our internet service is $42.95, but I receive a $15.00 discount. We get the Platnium package so the discount on cable may be different due to different packages.

I'm in Jacksonville, Florida--but Comcast internet has really been acting up lately. It just went down for a few seconds now. I keep seeing the Comcast trucks every day driving around doing maintenance. Hope they are able to fix the problem!

I have a landline and pay $29.99. Cable here is $39.99-49.99, so if I didn't have to have the landline, cable would be cheaper.

We have cellphone only also, why bother with a landline anymore, the only calls I get on a landline are telemarketers who always seem to "forget" about the no-call listings.

But to be honest with you, we pay Time Warner $110 per month for basic cable and internet service, so it isn't cheap. But I wouldn't change it unless I absolutely had to, it's well worth the money!!

Thanks for all the replies. The only choice here is Time Warner for $44.95 unless I want to hook up a landline. So it seems like a reasonable price. I figure I can try it for awhile and see if it's worth it.
