Neither fills forms perfectly, but Roboform fills a few more.
The biggest advantages are: 1) Gator is spyware and could in the wrong hands be used against you. 2) Roboform doesn't "reward" you with all the popups and popunders that Gator does. These are really annoying. | ||

Imbroke-
Try a forum search using both search terms...there are umpteen posts discussing the merits/demerits. Think you'll find Sue's post is correct. Gator is an invasive program that hogs bandwidth, pumps advertising, and installs spyware on your computer (if you download and run Adaware you will find so-called spyware files that are attributed to Gator). Plus for me it 1. crashed too often, and 2. simply didn't work all that well. Roboform is also free, but a much smaller, elegant and more functional program. Other than someone's not wanting to abandon the familar...I can't see any reason whatsoever to prefer Gator over Roboform. PS- on the ZDnet download page Gator is rated 3 stars (plus a disclosure about the ad pumping components). Roboform is rated 5 stars.
