So sad...I just read where two police officers have been shot today in a Texas WalMart parking lot as well.

Oh man, I hate seeing stories like this...

Tommy, thanks for sharing - and our thoughts are with their families and brothers and sisters in the department.

As for those other cases that they mentioned? Mental disease my a$$!

I am very sorry about the officers today. It never made national news when my cousin Matthew Bowens (21 years old) and his partner Jennifer Fettig died. A stupid kid from Detroit shot and killed both of them. The funeral was huge, but I only saw it on the local news. Now we are trying to get the death penalty in Michigan for the people that murder in the first degree a law enforcement officer. I hope the people of Michigan will be able to vote on this issue. My heart goes out to the families of any fallen officer. I've been there. Fight for what you believe in. You know what you did with that gun and now you can not claim insanity!!!!!!!!!

If I were there, I'd be voting yes!! Keep fighting up there, your cousin will be glad to know that you are fighting to protect his brothers and sisters.

My deepest sympathies for the loss of your cousin and his partner, it's tragic.

Tommy, you are correct that this country owes a debt of gratitude to all those serving in law enforcement. One of my better friends is an FBI agent and I know several policemen. Theirs is a dangerous job that is often not recognized by a significant portion of the population.

Cop killers should all get the needle, if you know what I mean.

Yes, dangerous, every single day of their lives are dedicated to protecting us from the bad guys and I can't thank them enough! I hate to hear young people talk bad about them, heck, I hate to have anyone talk bad about the police. They are far better people than most.

I get so angry when the public throws a fit because the police used too much force, well hell, you have a looney coming at you with a knife and see what you do in their shoes. They have to deal with scum everyday, just pulling someone over for no brake lights can mean life or death.

I take my hat off to each and every one of them!!

I'd give a resounding yes to that vote too. However, I think they should add child murderers to the list...absolutely.

Unlike others, I would prefer the chance to take care of the child murderers and molesters myself. Let me have them for just a few moments, if there's anything left, the state can execute them.
