When are you guys going to be taking your vacation.

We'll be going for 2 weeks in July. I'll PM you with more info. It would be great if we could meet up at some point while we're there!

Congrats on the new apartment Kim! So cool that it'll be your own place!

It's not about worrying about what's down the road, or where you will end up, it's about enjoying where you are right now.

Tony & I went to the movies tonight and saw Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. It was a little different than I thought it would be but overall we thought it was pretty good.

Tomorrow we're taking the kiddos to see Brave. It looks cute and the kids have been dying to see the movie.

Hope you all are having a good weekend!

I've been reading the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. I had so many people telling me that I HAD to read it so I gave it a go! It's definitely more "racier" in nature than my usual reads - and that's putting it mildly. But I have to say I'm loving the books! The main character Christian Grey has me completely smitten! I'm mid-way through the 3rd book. Has anyone else read the books? They are very addicting!

I just finished the trilogy and passed them along to my friend at work. I am smitten with Christian too but not as much as I was with Edward Cullen.

Oddly enough - I see scenes from "Pretty Woman" and "Twilight" in this trilogy and it makes me believe that the author used memories of other love stories and created a completely new one out of them.

Good reads though.

Gayle - OMG so glad Richard is fine!!!! Scary stuff. Hugs to you.

Kim - so happy to hear that you found an apartment and I wish you the best on your move.

Popping in to say hi! We went to the splash pad with a new friend from work today! She has a 3 year old little boy, too. I told Jayce (4) that the boy coming was 3, like Grey...He says, "Does she have a boy my age?" Hehe! That kid cracks me up!

I have been cruising Craigslist...scored a great corner nook table today...the corner is a bench and then four chairs. Not the prettiest, but great space saver. This way we can still have people over without having to have a huge table take up the place. As I was just looking at other stuff, I just got a little overwhelmed realizing all the little things I will have to get...towels, shower curtains, silverware...So, I'm going to get away from CL right now, try to read and go to bed!

Kim, I am extremely excited for you to have your own place! I lived by myself for a long time and thought it was lonely at time, but now that I've lived with people a lot more, I realize I just wasn't appreciating the peace and quiet!!! You can always invite people over, but if they live there, you can't make them leave!! Haha! I hope you enjoy walking around in whatever clothes you feel like, playing the music you want at your level, reading in the living room with the TV off...whatever floats your boat! What a neat time! I'm with Leigh, setting up a new home is a great time!

Night everyone!

Soooo excited for you as well! I have never lived on my own. Sounds like you have everything under control!

new babies
My aunt adopted a little girl cat and these are the babies that were born to her on friday. She is going to be getting fixed after the babies are weaned and the babies will be finding good homes. Mommy and babies are doing well. On friday she went into labor and 3 of the babies were born.. We thought that she was done having babies and I cleaned up her,the babies, and her cage. What a suprise we had when yesterday, Caleb started yelling that she was having another baby in the litter box. He is our little suprise and just adorable. Thought I would share a pic with you guys of Caleb holding the baby born yesterday.

Congratulations Kim! Living on your own is wonderful! I strongly prefer it myself and hope you enjoy every moment of your autonomy. All the best to you during this exciting transition.

Actually, 50 Shades IS a compilation of Twilight fanfiction. Christian is Edward. Folks who wanted more sex wrote these sceners between Edward and Bella on a fansite. The author had to change the names and story because she could not get permission to publish it as a Twilight Erotica, so she wove the Christian story around the Twilight erotic fanfiction.

Almost every pop culture hit has a fanfiction website. Goggle your favorite movie/book/television show and the term fanfiction and you'll find extension stories. Some of the writing is horrible, but some of the stories are quite good and many are erotic.

Night everyone!
Just remember that everything in your current home belongs to BOTH of you, so it is completely appropriate to take half the towels, half the dishes, etc. The last time I did this, I took everything from the guest room and guest bath because it had fewer memories and would not leave the person remaining without what he needed. In the kitchen I took holiday dishes for my use and left the matching set for him. It's possible to be fair, reasonable, considerate of Ralph's needs and still take what you and the boys need. Since you are cooking for 3 and he is cooking for one, if your dishes are for 8...splitting into two services of 4 meets everyones needs.

You are in our hearts as you make this big transition!

Ahhh, cuteness! Our paper had a photo of two kittens from the same litter in this morning's paper that they are looking for homes for, I came THISCLOSE to calling. Unfortunately I really don't have the time to devote to any pets at the moment. Someday...

Vickie and Rich, how long should those Southern Magnolia seeds you sent me last Summer take to sprout?

If it's not more than 3 weeks, can you send me some more next time you harvest some? They don't seem to be doing anything since I planted them.

Thanks!

Sorry for hijacking the board tonight, LOL! Busy weekend for me. I went to see two movies, 'Brave' and 'Snow White and the Huntsman'. I enjoyed them both.

Jim and I met with a financial planner on Saturday morning as we've been dragging our feet on that for a while. With him retiring at the end of the week, we really needed to find someone to help us out with a plan, and coincidentally my company had a health fair about a month ago, and the guy we met with yesterday was there. We were there for about an hour and a half, we really liked him so I think it will be a good match.

I finally got most of my lawn statuary put outside today, though several things are MIA, I suspect they are in the attic, so I'll head up there when the temps cool off so that I don't pass out from the heat!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
