Tara - sending for you job!

Dawn - I was so proud! I shared it on my FB!

Vickie - you have to 'friend' us. Either put our names in the search at the top of the FB page or PM me your FB name (I think you said you were using maiden name?). I'm soooo excited! Welcome to the digital age.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the promotion that I have been working 3 years on. I don't know if I'm more pissed off or just plain hurt. I worked closely with my previous boss until about November last year on making sure I had accomplished everything I need and I got 'exceeds' on every damn thing on that review. And my new boss doesn't put me up for a promo? She is not a people person and really should not be a supervisor. My old boss got promoted and they split up his team to the other Sups. She definately favors her old employees over us that are new. I got a splitting headache this morning when she made her promo announcement and I wasn't on the list. I had to come home and just slept for 4 hours.
I am making a list of all my accomplishments from last year and will set up a meeting with her tomorrow or Monday to ask what I did NOT do to get a promo? Two people on another team didn't do any of the extra work for the department that I did and they have only been team leads for a year. This will make my 2nd year. About to say Fu, if you pay me to be a grunt, just give me grunt work. Sigh.... Like I needed this on top of everything else. Keith getting that job was a bright spot, but seriously doesn't begin to cover all the sh!t in my life right now. Ugh... Sorry to vent.

But, Gayle... you made me laugh you nut! She sent me some Frank's Chile Lime Hot sauce for my grilled wings! And another one of her beautiful cards, free candy coupons and a sprig of Posey from her garden!

I luv you guys, whenever I have a bad day you are there - even by surprise. I am thankful everyday that I have this group to come to for fun and laughs and love.

Ugh, D'Andra, that stinks!! I can't stand it when bosses give favor to their buddies instead of on merit. BOO to her!!

Good for you that you are putting everything together and talking to her! I know you've been busting your butt, I hope she will see that.

Did your old boss say anything? Does he know? I'm surprised they didn't get together to do it since he has been with you guys.

Good luck, girl.

D'Andra, that sucks, BIG TIME. I'm interested in hearing what your boss has to say when you talk to her on Monday.

We have been running into the favorites thing here at work for the last few years. One of the reasons Jim finally decided to retire was that he's not one of the favorites (i.e. someone who sucks up to his boss, LOL!), and he suffers accordingly. Why is it that a good half of the people who are supervisors should not be in that position?

Vickie, when you go onto Facebook, if you don't go directly to your 'home' page, you should see links/posts/feed from everyone on your Friends list. The newest would be on the top if you choose 'Most Recent' on the sort; I think it defaults to 'Top Stories' or something like that.

Or you can go to a specific Friend's page by typing in their name in the search box at the top of the Facebook page.

(Not sure if I'm explaining this right or not.)

Hi D'Andra -

I found the daily newsfeed but some comments seem random, I'm still trying to get to the conversations they are part of. I'll get it figured out.

I did send you a friend request when I joined, but you haven't confirmed it yet. I don't have a "maiden" name as I have never changed my name. I just used my middle name as my last.

So sorry you didn't get the promotion. I admire you for gathering your data and being assertive. You go girl!

Oh that helps! I didn't know I could type in your names to see your pages. That will be perfect! I just keep seeing random notes from y'all in with all the contest sponsor ads and updates. I like that I can just type in your names. Thanks Dawn!!!

Now, I'll forever see this as a skyclad wiccan marshmallow!

D'andra, poop, just when things were looking up a bit, this goes and happens..want me to come over there and open up a can of whoop ass on your boss? As Dawn said we will be waiting to hear what happens when you go in and talk with her.

I'm glad you liked your little surprise wish I lived closer, I'd let you make some of those wings for me. Everytime you talk about them my mouth starts watering! and if find myself licking my fingers..lol

We had a bit of excitement this morning. To celebrate being just 3 days short of Rich's 6 weeks,( since he had his pacemaker put in) of going back on full regular activities he decided to fall thru the ceiling here at Gayle's Old House. He was up in the attic putting in some more duct work and his foot slipped off of the joyce and down he came. He fell backwards and one leg and his butt came thru. He caught himself under his armpits so he didn't hit the floor, and was able to hoist himself up. I was outside cutting the grass and he came out and got me, blood running down his arm and and his right side. He got scraped up quite a bit and is very sore. Needless to say when I saw him coming towards me all bloody I almost had a heart attack. Oh yeah I forgot to mention he was running the chain saw at the time.

OMG! I hope he is ok. And you too!

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement. I just need to stay calm and professional.

Kids are having a blast in Ohio. Anyone that has me on FB can see the pictures I've sharing from Uncle Markie!

Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

D'Andra...yes, calm and professional. I have a hard time with the calm part sometimes...actually, I usually cry in those situations even though I don't want to. Good luck.

Gayle, that's crazy!!! I'm sorry you had to go through that! Ugh! I keep saying my heart is going to give out before I turn 40 if my boys have to keep getting stitches!

Well, I changed my address in roboform today and started using it to sweep with!! Figured I'll be over there by the time any wins come my way. Exciting and scary all at the same time!
