Angel Food Ministries-are there other programs?
Since Angel Food Ministries is out of business, does anyone know of any other program like it?

Thanks!

Good luck
You might also want to check into programs offered through state or local agencies for the aging, agricultural departments, or discount outlets.

In my area there are several churches that have programs as outreach. They call them pantry days. They just ask that people bring a basket or boxes to carry out their items. They do not require income info either.

market on the move AZ
https://www.the3000club.org/ We go to market on the move here in AZ, not sure if they have locations in other states? We get basically as much as we want to take for 10.00 donation-It is not just for the needy but for anyone as they use the donation money to fund the trucks to get down to save the produce...alot gets donated to churches, food banks and the excess is sold for a donation of 10.00--last trip was tomatoes/zucchini/eggplant only but I was able to make tomato zucchini stew, marinara, salsa and Tomato bread salad with lots leftover for friends/neighbors. In Summer months there is alot more of a variety and it is generally high quality produce that they save

sunsouthern has a great link posted

Check with you local DHS they may have a food give away list.
There should be a local giveaway list that has who gives out food in what months.
Try local churches, community organizations to find the list.

Interesting that you should ask because, I was doing a search on this sort of thing earlier this evening. It saddens me that many states lack the resources or funding for various organizations such as this and other needs and yet, the government spends billions on bs.

Hope you find the resources that you need.

Here's what looks like a current list of alternatives to Angel Food: http://www.cookncents.com/2011/11/an...ernatives.html.

I have no idea how complete or accurate it is, but I hope it helps those who need it.

Thank you for the site. It will help now that Angelfood is no longer open in my neck of the woods.
