My favorite BIL has been in a coma for a week now. He had a massive stroke and isn't expected to live much longer. My SIL has asked me to conduct grave side services when the time comes. My BIL and I have always been really close and I feel ok about doing it however I am having a lot of trouble coming up with words to say at the service. The only people who will attend the service is my SIL and their DD along with my DH and DS and my BIL's sister from out of state.
Does anyone know of a good internet site that I can use to get some ideas for a service? We
want it simple and don't feel the need to go into to much history because we all know my BIL and his life's history already. I have picked out a beautiful poem called If tomorrow starts without me and I will read Psalm 23.
If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it knowing them. Time is running out and I could really use your help. Thanks in advance!

In the Old Testament, Ecclesiastes, chapter 3, has the passage which starts "To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose. . ."
Some of the most beautiful and comforting words in I've ever heard. A selection from these verses could fit almost any moment. Such a sad time, how terribly difficult. Condolences to you and your family.

I think the things you have picked to read will be perfect and Judithlh's suggestion would be great also. I will definately do a search and post anything I find that I think you might like. I am so very sorry that you and your family are going through this. You are all in my prayers. ![]()

I'm sorry I don't have any advice on how to plan a service but I am especially sorry that you have to go through this. You will be in my thoughts and I hope your days from here on out are blessed.
Take care. ![]() | ||

Thank you all for your help. SeaAngel, that site you gave me has some beautiful poems and one I plan to read.
I can't believe how many sites I found that CHARGE you to either write it for you or let you read their stuff. We received word today that my dear BIL is blind and would never be able to speak if he was to live. He is basically brain dead. He has a living will so the only thing they can do is keep him comfortable. I thank you all again for your help and kind words. OLS has the most caring people on the net!
