Just won 2.5 million from PCH...
I got a phone call today telling me I won 2.5 million from Publisher's Clearing House.
The guy had a thick accent and was butchering my very easy-to-pronounce common first name. He told me that my prize was on its way to my house now via UPS and asked if I'd be there to sign for it. He butchered a few more canned phrases and then asked me how I felt being the winner. I told him I'd believe it when I saw it.

He told me I'd need to present a valid ID... blah, blah, blah... oh, and a receipt from Western Union. I told him I wasn't going to purchase anything from Western Union. "Oh no... you're just paying for shipping and handling" he said. "No, if I really won something, I don't have to pay anything for it." I replied.

Can you believe that the scammer actually hung up on me?
The sad thing is, I know some people who probably would have fallen for this.

Was it from this phone number 702-347-8946? If so a few of us got bogus phone calls from them this past month.

This makes me upset....not only do I not get REAL winning phone calls, I don't even get fake ones like this! LOL! I would LOVE to mess with these people!

Just wonder how many "winners" he called today and how many poor souls fell for it!! Seems there should have been enough publicity about scams like this for it to not to be working any more.

Thanks for the warning I am so skeptical of winning phone calls. I've received three phone calls wins in my sweeping career and I think I always ask is this a joke. Of course I would never send a penny. I always check Mysweeps to see if it's legit.

I was so happy for you at first. To win a million dollars would be lifechanging.

Funny, I didn't think Western Union was in business anymore?

My sister was getting those. It was pretty funny - the same guy called back about 3 times, and each time the "win" was for a different amount and from a different company. It was pretty obvious from the voice and the accent that it was the same person. He may not have been too smart, but he was certainly persistent!
