Thank you Kay for your hard work. It is very hard to be vegan, allergic to food, take medicines that restrict certain food intake, be a picky eater or stick to a religious based diet. Corn tortilla end up having wheat and meat is cooked on a grill picks up bread. I have survived this cross contamination.

Kay what is the best place for ribs? Where are the best places to shop? Is their Wal-mart the regular size or the Super sized one? Just in case, do you have the number of a good bail bondsman and the local slammer?

The convention has a cruise planned and I was wondering if the cruise or KB's Pub and Grub Crawl would be better?

You vegetarians have never been to the Mid West, have you?

For vegetarians, it's like a martian diner landing on another planet.

Mid-Western vegetarian restaurants? I have never found one.

I talked with the catering manager for the convention and she said that there will be vegetarian choices for the Friday lunch and Saterday evening banquet. As for the rest of your meals, I'm sure that there are restaurants here that has salads, Portabella sandwhiches, and I remember eating a sandwhich that was all veggie with bean sprouts and all but I can't remember where it was. If I wasn't so busy, I'd check into the restaurants.

Best ribs in the Quad Cities...I'd say Texas Roadhouse are my favorite (don't tell my brother-in-law) Texas Roadhouse is about 10 miles from the Holiday Inn. Another favorite IS Famous Dave's (owned by my brother-in-law). I love Famous Dave's for all their sauces.

I am afraid I will have to disagree with you and vote for Circle Tap hands down!! For a chain though Famous Dave's does have some good grub.

Kay and I were discussing last night that in Davenport Greatest Grains has great vegetarian fare!! I didn't realize til Kay told me that they actually serve food there too, learn something new every day!!

KB, I have many clients in Missouri and Kansas and they always "freak" when I visit them ...

"Where do we take Cathy for dinner - our wonderful, but nutty vegetarian consultant from California?"

So we end up going where I can at least get a baked potato and a salad.

Of course, the waitresses always look at me like I'm crazy - "All you want is a baked potato and a salad, hon? We got a good special on prime rib?"

You need clients in Columbia, Mo then and we'll take ya to a yummy place called The Main Squeeze - veggie, organic, yadda, yadda, yadda. Granted its no California, but all my veggie friends like it lots! My sister is veggie and has a bunch of places she goes in Kansas City - you need new clients

Cathy you just got to do lots of research and adapt. I am on a no wheat, soy, egg, dairy, malt, gluten and chocolate diet. I can have a once in a while dairy and chocolate. There are many restaurants that serve meatless dishes. Asian restaurants have lots of meatless dishes as do Indian and African restaurants.

I eat sandwiches wrapped in lettuce or corn tortillas and sometime just order pastrami with pickles and mustard with a side of fries and cole slaw. Adapt and research is my motto. There are plenty of great restaurants in the midwest that are vegetarian.

ok let's see the Walmart's are all supersized around here. Southpark Mall is not far away from the hotels so there is that, also in the area of the mall there is a local place called Quad City Candles, that have wonderful scents and beautiful items. I think that we have summed up where the best place for RIbs are. As for the jail stuff, wouldn't know that ...Kay's a good girl

As for the cruise I am assuming that there is a plan for a crusie on the Celebration? That is nice there is also a daily crusie that some of the gambling boats go on but they are always god awful early. Hope I answered some questions that you have.

Yes it would be on the Celebration. I did not know about the Gambling boats ahving cruises. My religion says gambling is a sin. I just know that I could drop $5000 in one hour at a casino and spend way to much on lottery tickets.

Who was talking about KB? There are other rabblerousers coming . Haven't you heard about Cathy trading in her wimple and habit for dancing shoes and a red dress? I hear the Abbey will be rocking in June.

One of the raffle items is $1 Illinois state lottery tickets. I am only very familiar with California ones.

Circle Tap! I graduated from high school with the guy that owns that place. Is Jim's Rib Haven still around? My sister used to love that place. The Village is the best place for a Rueben, and they make that Turkey sandwich on the raisin bread. mmmmm, so yummy.
