Questions for Sweep 16
Please ask any questions here regarding the convention itself and our host JackpotJoe will get back to us to answer them

Joe ~ Can you visit the vendor tables if you are not a paying convention member?

Other than the banquet is there anything else people can attend for a lesser price if they are unable to do the whole convention?

This is something that the convention committee will have to decide.

The Banquet is the only event/session open to non-registered people at this time. In the past the banquet was the only additional fee for non registered people.

If I am not mistaken its a bid between the different sweep clubs to host and then all attendees vote. Last year it was San Diego, the year prior Baltimore and this year the Quad Cities Winners, of which JackpotJoe is a member, won the bid for this years convention

i did not know that, thanks for the info. i was wondering how they decide where to have it. it was in baltimore my first year i started sweeping, so i did not know anyone, and everyone thought if i went i was nuts LOL. but now, if it came by close again, i would definately go!

how does this work? will ols people be sitting together as a group?

i wonder because i might drive there. its about 5 hours away. id be going by myself, because my husband wont be able to get work off and noone i know sweeps (even if i knew someone around here). so i would be all alone. i dont really like the idea of being alone at a convention. ive done it before, but it kind of stinks, esp when i dont know what im doing. will ols people be wearing special stickers so at least we can say hello to each other?

BTW, will anyone be carpooling? may i start a thread for that?

I will definitely be trying to get everyone to hook up so that OLS people can make sure and meet/hang out with each other. That is why I started this forum to get some excitement and make sure we can all coordinate You won't be alone

Most definitely! I was thinking about that last night that we should have a ride/crash board - if people are looking for roommates for the convention or people to ride with ~ go for it

There are now 463 people signed up. 180 people are first time attendee's We will be making the first timers name bages sspecial so that the veterans will know who they are and help them along. If you are a first timer, don't be bashful...ask questions we are all there to help. Everyone helps out, not just the convention hosts.

Hopefully sometime in April. Sometimes I didn't know about the speakers until I signed in at the convention.
