Hello everyone,
I can give a list of events that we will have at the convention but I cannot describe the fun times and fellowship that happens. I would strongly suggest to purchase the video or DVD of last years or a previous year convention. You can buy them from Jeff Crosno: VHS Video - $24.95 DVD - $29.95 send a check or money order to: JD Crosno - Video/DVD (ss) 89 Maine Lane Silex, MO 63377 Since this is the 16th Annual Sweepstakes Convention, we have selected a Birthday Party theme and named it Sweep 16. We have planned to make this a very fun convention. The following is somewhat of a schedule that you can expect at the convention. The times are not set in stone but are close. Thursday: The vendor rooms will open as soon as they are ready (I'm hoping around 1:00). We have 42 vendor tables. We have some of the vendors who come every year to give us some great supplies at nice prices. We also have some new vendors coming. Vendors sell many sweepstakes items and many vendors have raffles and giveaways. We should also have the raffles open. Raffles can be found on our website: http://home.mchsi.com/~geoffmyers/in...es/Page626.htm At 3:00 all those who are registered for the convention will have the chance to sign in and pick up their convention packet which includes their entries for all of the drawings. The convention packets will also have the agenda of the weekend and some inserts from vendors. Later about 6:30 or 7:00, there will be a welcome reception for the convention attendees. This is where sweepers from all over get to mingle with old friends and make new friends. There will be refreshments and we will have our first set of drawings for prizes. Firday: The convention hall will open at 7:00 A.M. The Master of Ceremonies MC will get the party started about 8:00. The conventions usually start off with a roll call by states. and then we go though other roll calls such as Who won a car?...who won a trip? How many? etc. We will have a special event that will happen in this first session. I'm sorry but I have to keep it a secret. It is something special that another group is doing. We will then have our first speaker. (speaker topics will vary) Then we will have prize drawings taking us up to noon. After lunch (about 1:30) we will have another speaker and another prize drawing going until 4:00 or 4:30. Friday evening and Saturday afternoon are free time for those who want to go on a Dinner Cruise on the Mississippi River or a Dinner Theatre. Maybe visit some other attractions and/or Riverboat Casinos (we have three). Also vendor rooms will be open. Things to do can be found at this website: http://home.mchsi.com/~j.repko/ Saturday: The convention hall will open at 7:00 A.M. The MC will get the party started about 8:00. We will have more speakers and prize drawings taking us up to noon. We will have a break until when the banquet starts (about 6:30). The vendor rooms and raffle area will be open for a time during this break. The banquet room will open about 6:30. We will eat dinner and enjoy the company of our friends. We will have prize drawings after dinner and also have drawing for our raffles. At 9:00 we have a special birthday party planned that will last until midnight. Sunday: The convention hall will open at 7:00 A.M. The MC will get the party started about 8:00. We will then hear from the Arizona group about the convention they are planning in 2006 and then ask for people to bid to host the 2007 convention then vote on it. We will conclude with more prize drawings until about noon. I hope this has answered your questions and most of all, makes you want to come to the party. I can come here every now and then to answer any questions you may have. If you could, please start a new thread titled Questions for Sweep 16. It will be easier for me. If you want a privet reply then include your email address. Thanks, and I hope to see everyone in June. JackpotJoe

How much does a taxi cost in Moline to go 3 blocks? I hve not used a taxi in a while and need to know if that would be better than a car rental.

I am asking this very respectfully:
From what I have read, it is my understanding that the cost of attending the convention is $155.00 ($310.00 if you bring your s/o). This includes some raffles, listening to speakers (talking about sweeps?), and some meals. Is that correct? Thanks.
