Planning trip to Myrtle Beach
I am planning a trip to Myrtle Beach in early April. May possibly stay at the "DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront". Is that a good hotel? How far from the airport? Do I need to rent a car? I would prefer not to. Where can I get some brochures?

We live in SC and go to Cherry Grove (North Myrtle) 2 or 3 times a year. Here is a link for a vacation guide. -https://www.visitmyrtlebeach.com/plan/visitors-guide/ If you plan to do anything other than sit on the beach, you will probably want to rent a car. Don't go during the week of Memorial Day or for the first 2 weeks of June. Great places for seafood are in Murrells Inlet (South Mrytle Beach side) and our favorites in Little River SC which is on the SC/NC state line (North Myrtle Beach side). Lots of places to eat at Barefoot Landing as well as tons of shopping there. Looks like the hotel is on the south side of Myrtle closest to Murrells Inlet. I think the airport is not too far from the hotel but I havent been down that way in a while. Another member and my friend on here AlanSax and his wife go down regularly too so you might want to PM him. I believe they stay near where you will be. My son in law is from Murrells Inlet so if you have any questions that Alan cant answer I can ask him. MB is a great place to vacation and I hope you have a great time while you are there.

We go to Myrtle Beach twice every year. We always stay at the Hampton Inn Oceanfront & Suites. It is ranked as the 3rd best hotel in Myrtle Beach. As Sheila said if you plan to do other things beside just spend time on the beach I would rent a car. Our favorite things to do there are: Alabama Theater, Carolina Opry, Broadway at the Beach, & Barefoot Landing.
