I have rerouted my washer drainage to my garden. (Thought about bath water but thought better of it.) Protects against bugs and waters the garden. There is a valve that I can route to the sewer if I think it is necessary. Don;t use liquid fabric softener or bleach. But if you dont care about the environment use the bleach water to kill weeds. Someone years ago won a clorox sweepstake with the bleach on weed cure.
Live in AZ and water is very expensive.

Ours is on septic, so mine drains into the yard to trees.

I tried to get plumbers to do something similar for me in 2000. They told me it was illegal. Guess it depends on where you live.

times like these, you can easily become aware of what is necessary and what is a luxury.
Hope everyone is doing well.

Glad you are still with us...have you had to go to MD Anderson, lately? <<<hope Not!

Our dear daughter will attest to be raised hearing this phrase "there is a Difference Between a Need and A Want" of course we helped her to understand that difference and if there is something you want we'll save so much until you can get it or you contribute this much toward it..She Always Had What was Needed and most of the Time her Wants were acquired.

We've been practicing what we call "Shopping the House" since mid- Dec. of 2017 after my dear hubbies employer (worked there for 26 years) downsized about 70 employees...amazing what is hidden in closets, the pantry, the garage and surprise a few needed wire, screws and a quart of oil in each car trunk...and so thankful to have had savings to live on.

One day the interior of the front door lock no longer worked...dh goes the lock is broken how much will this cost and how are we going to pay for it? I said not a problem we have the same set let me show you, I march him a tote I said open it up you'll find what you need...I hear your dreaming...he opens it looks at me and says What, How...I said I just remember when we changed the lock sets about 10 years ago I bought enough for all the doors and you decided not
t to change out the one for the door into the garage from the patio! I thought Wow God You Knew this day would come and You Provided!!! once again!!! Thank you!
Just yesterday, I was in the garage poking around and in a bag I found a really nice spring green colored throw-just perfect for the back of the living room couch (we have a Zoom family Celebration of Life tomorrow hope my old used laptop will be ale to handle Zoom! A nice green cotton bed-sheet too...washed them up hung the sheet on the clothes line.

I know the garage needs to be cleaned. I think of the space age retro orange round Hoover Vacuum tucked away in a lower cupboard...probably worth some cash. bought it in the late 80's worked great until we moved into a bigger place and needed an upright vacuum. Just pulled out the last tube of Colgate tooth paste i bought a dozen on super sale early last year...

I always have kept old flannel sheets just in case we run out of TP...my dh says most of the time the shelves are empty of TP we are getting really low on sani wipes and gloves...we have been reusing the few dust mask that we've had since wildfire days...

I haven't been out of the house other than for a walk for a long time which is fine with me with my health issues. Were used to being home and so thankful to have a home...

I'll post some two links to the recipe area later on cooking when you don't have eggs and one I think it was on when you don't have butter?

God bless all who read this "Thread of Thrift"
