Twitter problem still
I am so fed up with the Twitter suspensions (3 of them now) that I am thinking of not doing blog giveaways anymore.
With the last one I had done only a couple of tweets and I was suspended again.
And it takes 24 hrs at least for Twitter to open your account again.
This is too much of a headache.
And not doing anything different - so do not get it.
Now I am waiting for Twitter to drop the suspension.
This is getting old fast.

When a sweep has multiple tweet entries, I think it's best to space them out. Lots of tweets in a short period of time might flag you as a spammer. It happened to me once.

I rarely do those types of sweeps just because of suspensions.. but if I do, I usually do a couple twitter, then jump to the FB, then to another section.. back to twitter... etc so I'm not doing them all at once.

I've never had that trigger a problem...Kellogg has asked you do 10 a day for several of them over the last two years. I won an MLS GC doing this for the span of 8 months. And before that I won a fanatics GC doing the same thing. I do around 30-40 tweets a day for sweeps related purposes. Maybe 5-10 more legit ones when I see a topic of interest. I've accumulated around 50,000 sweeps related tweets on said account.

Hope that is meaningful in this discussion.

There are 500 million tweets sent each day. That's 6,000 per second. Those numbers rise when a special event happens (big news story, entertainment or sporting event, etc.)

Typically, a few tweets sent consecutively are not going to trigger their system. They're more concerned with the automated systems that tweet constantly and send out spam.

I've sent over 110,000 tweets with no major issues.

Thank you all for your replies.
Cannot think of anything I did to get these 3 suspensions - has me so puzzled.
Maybe I am caught up in a Twitter glitch?
Or someone hacked into my account.
I think Twitter would catch that?
I'd feel a lot better about it if I knew the reason.

I had mine suspended once, but it's been a long time. I asked what I could do to prevent it and was told that I was retweeting too much without adding my own content. I add tweets here and there, even if they are stupid tweets about going for a walk.

bayjay about how often do you add your own tweets?
I do a lot of blog giveaways and lots of tweets.
I do so many and then do something else.

I wonder if the Gleam Giveaways were part of the culprit. This week it changed to where one click wouldn't do the tweet. You have to click, then hit tweet, then come back and put your twitter handle in and then hit submit.

Someone asked Gleam about this, but they haven't gotten back to them.

I hope everything straightens out for you.

I haven't actually done it as much lately, but I was trying for once a day for a while. Spacing out tweets. Tweeting articles from websites in between. It's a chore and I've become kind of lax on it. I'm probably due for a supsension.

I think Gleam does have something to do with it. Earlier I was entering a Gleam and got a lock out on Twitter for suspicious automated activity. I had to change my password to get back in. I do a lot of blog giveaways and had not had a Twitter problem in over a year.

jalapenomama, I hope you get back in Twitter. They should concentrate on shutting down the real spammers and bots.

MiNiKE Thank you.
I am still not back in to Twitter - 4 days.
Makes me a bit edgy that this was my third suspension with a week.
After more serious thought I think this is a mistake on Twitter's part.
I've been tweeting the same way for ages without any problem.
And nope I've never done any automated tweets.

So what exactly does this mean?

Twitter has automated systems that find and remove automated spam accounts and it looks like your account got caught up in one of these spam groups by mistake. This sometimes happens when an account exhibits automated behavior in violation of the Twitter Rules (https://twitter.com/rules).
Did I break a rule or not - feel like it is not clear.

Thank you all again for your support.
I am back on Twitter and slowing down my tweets.
How much I need to do this - do not know.
Anyone?
