No, I would like to go there someday. But it surely is a nice place to go!

I wonder if they have diving excursions from the island?

I thought they probably would. Didn't Marlon Brando live there, or own some nearby island?

Every once in a while on some version of House Hunters, they have people looking to buy a small island that just contains a house and nature. That would be cool in some respects, but the isolation and the fact that you wouldn't have quick or easy access to stores, vets, hospitals, whatever, would scare me off from living full time on an island like that. Now, a Hawaiian island or a similar island with all the amenities, would be a different story.

I believe you are correct.

I watch those Island Hunter shows too. If I had about twenty million dollars, I would consider it. I wonder if those people have thought about the taxes they will have to pay on those expensive little pieces of ground....

I think I would enjoy being on an island that has a reasonable boat trip to a place to get supplies. I'm not a person who can live on the seafood in my 'front yard'.

And yes, I could live on Oahu forever, regardless of the traffic. If I win the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes, I would choose a different island, LOL, but as of now we need our military benefits.

A person who needs to get in the car and drive a long way in a straight line at high speed would not enjoy island life.

Maybe that person could change with time and come to enjoy island life.

I wonder if any of those small, private, very expensive islands have ever been demolished by a hurricane or tsunami? You never hear that discussed when people are looking to buy on Island Hunters.

Every now and again, they mention "the house on stilts in case of rising waters" etc.

A show called "Island Disasters and Bankruptcies" would probably not be as popular.

He actually seems to be a competent contractor. BUT he does over the top projects for over the top money with over the top nonsense in the shows, it seems. I've only seen some of the 6th season episodes. It appears that one house is done per season, each episode being one room or area. It's Flip or Flop on mondo amounts of steroids. And tattoos.
