Question Connection to OLS not secure
Today, I noticed that the URL for OLS, at the top of my screen, is not secure.
It is a lowercase "i" with a circle around it says "Not secure." Is anyone else seeing this?

I am using Chrome also, I am on a PC with Win 10. After I noticed this problem, I verified that Chrome was up to date and I had no security issues.

It's always been like this and has never caused a problem. You know because it doesn't have https:// in front of the address. I mean what is someone going to do? Hack your account and enter your sweeps for you? When you signed up there wasn't any personal info just an email address and I hope for sweeping you have one that isn't associated with anything else you do.

That's my take on it.. I don't scrutinize every site without Https because I don't have my personal info on it - at least any more than what is out there already available to the public..

and now after being involved in two hacked supposedly top secure sites ( one a gov't one ).. what the heck!!

I think it has to do with Chrome. I don't see "not secure" if I bring the site up on IE.
If I go further, Chrome wants to change my settings in Chrome to match OLS settings.

It means the site does not support encryption.

"Our freinds at Equifax already took care of the "not secure. The best thing to do is freeze your credit then noone can open new accounts in your name.

It's not just Chrome. I see the "not secure" warning with Firefox.

I rarely give out more than name, addy, phone and DOB on the internet (OLS doesn't even have that info). If a sweep asks for more than that I might opt to not enter.

Anytime there is no http:// in front of an address it's not secure.

It's got nothing to do with what browser you are using. Sure some of the browsers might show "Not secure" in a box before the address but like I said ANY address that doesn't have " http:// " in front of it isn't secure meaning it doesn't support encryption.

Not that that matters like bomar97 said some of the most secure sites have been hacked.

No need to panic it's been like this since day 1.

No reason for this to be a secure site.
