I'm looking for a little inspiration for my new desk area. We just bought this desk this weekend http://www.potterybarn.com/products/...key=gthmhoflib
I'm quite proud of my buy because it was a floor model and cost a fraction of what it is going for.

The desk is in an awkward space (it's the right side of the photo), but I would really like to dress the space up quite a bit. I am facing a blank wall and could use some wall suggestions. The other thing I need is something for the other side of the desk. I would love some additional seating but also need a place to hide a cat litter box. This space is adjoining our kitchen.

Any ideas?

BTW, the color scheme is green/blue.

Could you get a storage ottoman bench kind of a thing...that way you will have a seat, more storage and it could hide the litter box. I bought one line at www.homedecorators.com They have a HUGE selection and you can get 3 months same as cash if you use a Home Depot Credit card...you can also get cash back via ebates.com, not sure how much, but most places are around 3-4%.

You could probably make one a lot cheaper though if you are crafty

PS:More direct link to benches:

Maybe not the prettiest of the bunch, but it matches the desk, has a green cushion and 3 FILE CABINETS

I cant stand the sight of some of the light fixures in here anymore.
At least 4 fixtures need to go back to the hell from whence it came from like 2 decades ago.
Unfortunatley, my checkbook states that the light fixures need to stay a little while longer. Gah!
Spraypaint to the rescue!

Since that is a separate area, I would paint it a lighter color, maybe the back wall a daker tone.

I would add floating shelves over the desk area and a piece of art on the back wall.

I would get one of those hidden cat litter boxes or use a small bookshelf to disguise the litter box area and create privacy for the kitty and then tuck a stool by the desk.

That is a really neat litter box, covergerl, I haven't seen that before!

EvilActionFigure, lol, about the checkbook, I hear you...so many projects, so little money...my cousin spray painted some of her light fixtures and it came out nice...I think she used a 'stone look' sort of paint...I think anything like that is more forgiving, too. Good Luck, I want to see pics!!!

Found a linke-doodle to this cool litter box. My cat's is in the furnace room, so I don't need one of these...but that does not stop my DESIRE to have one of these, how cool!
