Medical Procedure
Had breast biopsy on Friday--the result of an abnormal mammogram with suspicious findings.

I had not had a mammogram since 2013 as I have no family history and my doc said that based on that I didn't really need them regularly until age 50. On a whim (hey--it doesn't cost me anything) I decided to get one again anyway. So thankful I did. Whatever we caught, we caught it very early.

I should find out the results of the biopsy by Wednesday. I am not too nervous--was more nervous about the pain involved with the biopsy, but that is done and over with now.

Radiologist I spoke to after the mammogram said if it is cancer then they caught it very early and will be easy to treat--cut it out. But I forgot to ask, if I caught it once--what are the chances that it might come back again? I guess that is a question for later.

Wouldn't mind some prayers--good thoughts--healthy vibes---etc. sent my way between now and Wednesday. Thank you.

So glad they caught it early. I have Stage 4 Inflammatory Breast Cancer. I'm through with the chemo portion of treatment and on maintenance antibodies every three weeks. I'll be praying for you and if you have any questions feel free to send me a message

Praying for you
I have stage IVc thyroid cancer,

if it is you know what, ask what type and stage, what proceedures and treatments, take someone with you to take notes, get a second opinion. Start a notebook and everyone you talk to write down their numbers and the conversation specifics.

Make a list of questions and take them, ask every question.

Good luck, PM me if you want to talk.

hugs & prayers
As a former oncology nurse, I am familiar with most of the treatments for breast cancer.

If the lump is in situ, meaning completely contained and early stage, a lumpectomy is usually done. And it depends what type of cancer is found. Ductal carcinoma in situ is the most common type of noninvasive cancer. It begins in the lining of the milk ducts. Many women can be cured of this type of cancer if it's detected early and treated.

The key is early detection and treatment, which is what you are doing.

I'm keeping you in my thoughts for good results...I was going to mention different types of cancer and treatments, but no need to cross that bridge until if and when you get a positive diagnosis.

Thank you, thank you all for the positive thoughts and PRAYERS! They helped; I'm sure of it.

I got good news today. Best possible news in fact--benign. Close surveillance needed from now on, but otherwise good-to-go.

Those of you who mentioned you have gone through or are currently going through cancer--you are in my prayers as well.

Thanks again everyone. I did not know how worried I was until I felt the relief and weight lifted when the doctor called.
