My grill is toast and reading all of your plans for today makes me incredibly jealous. I'd be happy with a burnt hotdog & marshmallow at this point. Anyone making enough for company?

We're having country style ribs in the crock (mine will be drowned in Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce), southern style baked beans, oven baked sweet potato fries and deviled eggs.

Will let you know later....

Maybe my dh will take the kids out to dinner?

I didn't see an answer to this post - if I missed it (entirely possible!) I'm sorry.

Mixed nuts are graded based on their size and the percentage of that nut in the mixture. It's a grading system, that's all.

"Enrobed" is just a way of saying coated or covered (as you guessed).

Using fancy words is not uncommon in the food world - after all, most folks will pay a lot more for pate than they would for chopped liver.

ETA: in order to be faithful to the title of the thread, I'll share that we're having beef cacciatore with potatoes and carrots and a green veg (haven't decided on that yet) for dinner tonight. It's chilly and raining and not a day I'd send anyone out to grill.

Here's the recipe I use for beef cacciatore: http://www.joyofkosher.com/recipes/beef-cacciatore/

BBQ Chicken

Ranch Potato Salad

BBQ Baked Beans

Skillet Sweet Corn

Homemade Coleslaw

Lime-Honey Fruit Salad

For dessert: Pulling out my Gelato machine for the last time before the move to make some Peach Gelato.

Hope that everyone has a wonderful dinner with their family & friends this evening!

Hehe sorry, didn't mean to complain and I will enjoy my dinner immensely, it's just that traditionally today is a grill out day and I keep putting off getting a grill because the one I want is pricey and last year we were under burn bans for most of the summer then it was either too windy or wet and I don't want to dole out the $ for something that sits there. Maybe I will get lucky and win one.

I really like very dark, burnt skin hot dogs from the grill (the inside can't be all charred though) and the only way I eat marshmallows is if my kids - or now my grandson- makes a dud- burnt out raw in.

So enjoy seeing everyone's menus, even when I don't post, I love seeing the wide variety of foods and writing styles.

We grilled veggie burgers, zucchini and yellow squash. I made a pesto pasta salad and strawberry shortcake.

Craving some pasta, so we'll be having our Italian night tonight. All the kids and grandkids will be joining us so I'll be making plenty of it! This is the last big meal that we will be shaing as a family in the home that we are moving from and I wanted it to be special. So everyone will be pitching in with the meal that we're having this evening.

Appetizers:
Pepperoni Pinwheels (for the grandchildren)

Onion, Garlic & Brie Bruschetta (for the adults)

Entrees
Vegetable Lasagna with White Sauce

Eggplant Parmesan (my favorite!)

Parmesan Crusted Tilapia

Salad
Roasted Red Pepper Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette

Dessert:
Chocolate Cannoli Cake Roll

Here's wishing everyone a wonderful meal tonight with those that you love and care about the most.

My son is picking up Steak and Shake for dinner. There's not much fast food that I like, but I love their burgers and shakes.

A friend made oxtails and rice and brought me some to try. It'll be my first time trying oxtails. I guess I'll find out in a few minutes if I like them.
