Finally got my full set of dentures
After wearing a top immediate denture for about 4 1/2 months I finally got my full set of dentures yesterday.
They look good, they seem to fit ok,but had trouble eating with the bottom denture,I am hoping I will just have to get used to it,it feels so weird after no having bottom teeth so long, need to just practice maybe?
They are not as gummy as the immediate denture which I like and I could have had them made so I would have a perfect smile but I have always had a little overbite so I kept it,I like my little overbite.
Anyway hoping eating will get easier with the bottom.
It was a long road but I can say I am glad I got it done,I know it was affecting my health and before I had them pulled I would get these bad headaches 2 or 3 times a month and since they were pulled I have not had 1.

What if the hokey pokey is what its all about?

Confession: losing my teeth is one of my greatest fears. Have nightmares were they shatter or someone punches me in my mouth.

Really hope it works out for you...

I'm sure you will get used to them. If anything changes in my mouth, my tongue is right there poking it until I get used to the new feeling being the new normal.

How I envy you! I can't afford to get dentures or even partials. Medicaid. I used to have a partial, but one tooth fell off, and then the wires began to break. Now I don't have enough teeth to support a partial. I tasted blood in my mouth this morning, so I guess another broken tooth fell out. (TMI?) Just call me snaggletooth. :-(

Can not believe its been 9 months since I got my teeth pulled, after all the fittings and sore spots and waiting to get my full set(in August)I can now say I am glad I did it for cosmetic and health reasons, sometimes though I sometimes forget and still smile with my mouth closed(a habit) but not as much anymore,I am finally not ashamed of my teeth.
The only part I don't like is when you take them out and adhesive is on the roof of your mouth,it grosses me out

You and I are in the same boat. I got all of my teeth pulled and had to wait 10 months. ....I ate soooo much oatmeal. lol I also have to use the adhesive and it is bad. i tell my husband it tastes like shoe inserts. How I know what they taste like (or think they taste like) is a mystery.

Enjoy your new choppers!
