hugs to Chancebunny and her fellow rescuers. I hope all goes well tonight or tomorrow. Such adventure ~ all I did last night was find the stupidest movie I could handle and some butter pecan ice cream and a comfy couch.

GREAT NEWS! One of the volunteers went back to the park this morning with her young daughter, and they got the rabbit! I don't know any of the details. She had said last night that she had a fishing net and was going to bring that on our next attempt. I called her this morning and her husband said that she had gone to the park about an hour earlier. Just as my husband and I were about to walk out the door to help, her husband called me and said that she had gotten it. I couldn't believe it. I think that the rabbit was so hungry and weary and so grateful for the food we gave it last night. Maybe it just came up to her to get more food, or maybe she snagged it with the net. I called the Sanctuary and the rabbit arrived safely. I'll find out the details later. This is so wonderful!

ThinLizzy--we discussed using a Hav-a-Heart trap, but since this was in a public place, anyone could have walked off with it. They are not cheap and could easily be stolen. And if the rabbit had gotten caught in it and a person decided to steal the trap, the rabbit could have been harmed or worse.

I felt so bad last night, I didn't even want to post. Now I can breath again and have fun again.

Thanks to everyone for their well wishes!

I just got a call from Lynn, the volunteer who rescued the bunny. She did it using patience. She had some food with her and lured it out of the drainage hole after it ran in there, then she stuffed the hole with something to prevent the bunny from going back in. She kept offering it food, and it would let her touch it a little then run off before she could grasp it. After about an hour of this, the bunny finally let down it's guard enough and Lynn was able to grab the back of it's neck and then clasp it to her tightly so it couldn't get away, and get it in a carrier. I really never thought that we would be able to rescue this bunny. What a happy day this turned out to be.

Hey, hey. We've got new smilies! Why is Captain Nemo the only player to get a personalized one?
