It's a nice sunny, breezy spring day, but the pollen is awful. It's mounded up in heaps against curbs and bushes and coming down from the sky like snow. I have to keep my eyes down the whole time I'm walking or it gets in my eyes. I'm surprised I'm not sneezing my head off when I go out walking.

Well, at least with all the snow, we don't have to worry about outside chores. Maybe in May ...

It's getting down to 40 here tonight. The nearby NC mountains have a freeze warning, which luckily we don't have to worry about here, but we did have to turn the heat back on.

I'm heading to Raleigh on Sunday, so I was looking at the forecast to see what to pack. Looks like it will be rainy for the day we go see Bon Jovi.

It's supposed to be cloudy here Sunday, with rain on Monday. The forecasters aren't always right - maybe you'll have better weather.

It's too hot - in the 90's for the last few days. We had been having pleasant weather, and cool mornings just a week or so ago when we needed heat, then it radically changed.

Rain and storms for days. I like storms, except when they put out the power for hours.

We've had 2 very rainy days and it's supposed to rain the rest of the week.

Same here.

We were in the dark about 8 hours Monday night. We lost power just as I was about to make dinner. The potatoes were peeled and in the pan. But I had not started, because I just knew....

I had seen the news reports that this was going to be a big storm with gusts up to 70mph. I was prepared, the hubs poo-poo’ed because the news always overdramatizes everything. But they had all sorts of data that supported what was on the way. I had secured the plants, lawn furniture and stuff, had water bottles, filled the gas cans for the generator.

Sandwiches by candlelight. Very romantic, except when it’s not. The power company recording said they expected to be back up in this area by 9. When it wasn’t on at 10, I called again. Now it was noon Tues.

I had to drag the generator out and juice up the fridge for an hour between 10 and 11. Fortunately, the rain had stopped or I couldn’t.

I thought about how thrilled hubs would be trying to get ready for work in the dark at 5am with no water. I would have to go out and run the generator again. Luckily, the power came up around 2.

A big tree was down all the way across the road down the hill from us. I saw people had been driving around it in someone’s yard. Big muddy crescent circle dug into the grass in their yard. Bet they were so happy about that....By the time I went that way, someone had sawed off enough for cars to get by. Was still like that yesterday.

We've just had heavy rains, but no electrical storms, thank goodness. Sorry that you lost your power. I know that's miserable.

It happens. Just so frustrating because that whole additional power line project was supposed to end the frequent outages here. Ha. Life in the country, what do I expect?

I am not out working on the grass seeding because it is pouring again right now.

Finally! A nice day. I had to get out and mow once the grass dried out this afternoon. Otherwise, I'd have to hire that bush hogger that puts signs up on the highway...

More rain here, and thunderstorms. There has been flooding in places and one person in NC died due to flooding.
