The fourth straight day of rain, plus we've had thunderstorms and today had a tornado watch. Everything is soggy and saturated and muddy. We really need some sunshine. But there is more rain in the forecast for tomorrow.

After I don't even know how many days almost weeks of rain everyday, the weather has turned!!! Going from low 50s for past week to finally high 80s and even into the 90s at the beginning of the week (and I get to enjoy it without working for a few days)

We lost a big limb from out beloved big yellowwood tree in a storm on Monday. There were 50 mph gusts of wind and pouring rains. There was a tornado near DC. The power was out for about an hour.

Still better than in Phoenix!!!!!!

Sorry about your tree. It's been terribly humid here and heavy rains and storms are predicted. There was a tornado warning in Georgia, near the SC border, but that's finally ended. The storms are coming this way, though, from the gulf. A lot of rain tonight and potential for bad storms tomorrow.

It has been oppressively hot the last few days. It's 85 degrees right now at 11pm. I just went out on the screen porch and it feels awful out there. The mornings don't feel much better. To go out walking or watering in the mornings is not at all pleasant. The air is thick, hot and horrible.

It's dry here, which means I'm having to water the flowers and veggies every day, but the air is so thick and unpleasant. Once you step outside the door, it envelops you in stifling, unbearable heat. We had a cooler spell at the end of July and first of August, but summer came back with a vengeance this week.

It sounds like you're getting a of rain, ANGSWIN. I hope that it doesn't affect any of the farming chores or crops.

Pretty nice here, got no complaints. But I feel bad for the people of Texas.

It's nicer here too, since it's a little cooler. I feel very sorry for the people of Texas too, and I always worry about the animals, both wildlife and domestic.

Tragic in Texas. I emailed my dive buddies in Houston. They are okay where they are, good to know.

The news from Texas keeps being horrible. I'm glad that your friends are okay.

It started lightly raining during the night, and was breezy this morning, with the rain and wind increasing as the day goes on. It's just moderately raining, but we are having wind gusts. The power flicked off a few minutes ago. I hope that's not a preview of things to come. When I turned on the news at noon, a report was just going off, with the reporter saying he was in Greenville county *(which is a large county) and it showed some trees down behind him. There are a lot of old, large trees in my neighborhood, but hopefully they'll all stay upright and not knock down any power lines.
