Mixed results on this years veggie garden. Green bush beans came on strong and I had a decent crop. Now I have to wait for a second bloom from them. 4th of July tomatoes much better than last year--they actually have flavor, unlike last years. My yellow cherry plant that was decapitated (and then hubby replanted the top) has produced many sweet tomatoes. Still waiting for the red cherry tomatoes to ripen.

The corn, however has been a big disappointment. Very low yield and not very flavorful. Probably time to move the corn patch to a new locale, but difficult since we have a small city lot. The front lawn would be the perfect location but that's not going to happen!

Peas were a total failure. Second planting of radishes were good--first batch not so much.
Zucchini doing fine and will be digging up the potatoes real soon.

Planted long neck pumpkins next to watermelons, just for giggles...they turned out looking like watermelons
The cat planted herself, and now I am bottle feeding 4 kittens..not the result I was expecting at all but it is all very rewarding
I love seeing everyones fruits (and veggies) of your labor

We had a fantastic summer in the garden - almost everything planted was prolific and delicious. I put a lot of thought into shifting varieties between my different locations to outsmart the wildlife (opossums, raccoons and squirrels), and with a few minor exceptions, it was successful.

We did, as always, have weeks on end of 100+ temperatures and that takes a toll, but ultimately (and thankfully), that too was minor.

Some of our summer plantings are still thriving and will last until frost, and our Fall crops are in and doing well - no pest bugs to manage in this weather.

We had several light frosts and then a couple of even colder nights. But my raspberries are still producing! They are amazing. Raspberries in early November in Zone 5? Crazy

Waiting for my limes and figs to ripen.

Making more room to expand my raspberry patch next year.

I need to fence in my elderberry plants.

Wishing & hoping & thinking & praying, planning & dreaming... and entering!
