I've received phishing emails from phony eBay and Citibank sources. My solution to any email like this is:
1. Bounce the email back to them so they do not know they have reached a valid email address.

2. I forward the phishing email to the real site( ex. spoof@Ebay.com.) I am an experienced computer user and I almost got suckered by this one. I logged on to the phony site and put in my password. As soon as I exited the site, I realized what it really was. I logged onto the real EBay site and immediately changed my password.

3. If I want to be sure if info is really needed, I do NOT use the link in the email, but open my browser and log on to the real site,directly.

The Most important thing to do is have a healthy skepticism and remember if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't true.
