Well, my DH was in remission for all of a week this time. He went to the urologist today because of a swollen and painful testicle. He's been diagnosed with testicular cancer (again - he had a different type of testicular cancer the first time) & will be getting fasting blood work & a sonogram tomorrow to confirm.

We could use your prayers & good thoughts. TIA

I will say a prayer for your FIL. Tell him to ask his doctor if there are any clinical trials that he can be enrolled in.

I am so sorry. Bile duct and pancreatic cancers are equally devastating.

You may want to look into clinical trials: http://www.cancer.gov/search/SearchClinicalTrials.aspx

Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is a great resource too.

My sister was diagnosed with anal cancer last October. She had 32 days of radiation and two rounds of chemo. The day after she finished with the radiation, she went into the hospital for bleeding ulcers. The ulcers were caused by her 4 ibruprofen every 4 hours. After 6 weeks, she got out of the hospital.

As for the cancer...this cancer continues to shrink months after radiation and chemo. She has her next oncology appt in March. They might to a CT scan or not. We just have to wait.

TY Karen, Lucky, & Liz...but he is in the finally stages...his oncologist started chemo but because it spread no radiation could be done...he also fought us on doing chemo...he has pretty much given up...my BIL (his baby son) died 6 years ago and his death saved my FIL life then...he feels guilty that he lived and his did not...no one can change his mind set on that...its just sad seeing a 60 year old man who has 3 children & 6 grandchildren who love him very much not want to fight...It is so hard on my DH...today was not a good day...I just hope he can try and make some kind of peace....

Suelee000 my prayers are with you and your sister...

My Grandpa had a long appt. at the James today. He has cancer in his lymph nodes and voice box, waiting to hear if it's in his lungs.

If it's not into his lungs, they'll remove his nodes and voice box and put in one of the artificial ones (sorry, not sure what to call it) and some chemo. If it's into the lungs they'll consult again as to how they'll procede.

His doctor let him go months with what he thought was some kind of cold as he lost his voice and still months later sounds gruff like someone with a cold, not like himself at all. Months of antibiotics with no result and finally we got him to go to a ear, nose and throat specialist who immediately made him an appt at the James.

If you all would, please just keep him and the family in your good thoughts and prayers. Anything is appreciated.

CORRECTION: Now they are saying Stage IV Pancreatic cancer, and chemo is the only thing that will give some relief. Just sucks so much, seeing on parent go through it was more than enough...fortunately my sister and I live close by and are supportive of each other and her

I am so sorry.

You may (and if you have siblings they should as well) get registered for a familial/hereditary pancreatic cancer registry - Dana Farber has one: http://www.pancan.org/section_facing...registries.php

My family is on a registry for incidences of pancreatic, ovarian and breast.
