Waiting on the storm.

Maybe it'll warm up some. Not sure on snowfall totals, no one really knows. But that wind is frigging nasty.

You can say that again. Mostly in the hottest summer months. Our house does have a ceiling fan in every room and standing fans in most rooms as well. Air flow is very important in cooling your home out here in Arizona. Thankfully, it truly is a dry heat. We rarely get any humidity.

The high summer bills are offset by the mild winters when you rarely need to kick on the heat.

That sounds quite bad, droopy. Do they ever cancel your work due to extreme weather? I know that all of you who live in the north are a lot more used to it, but it still can be dangerous.

Unfortunately, no it's never cancelled. With the way healthcare is, I feel sorry for anyone who has a procedure or appointments scheduled who decide to cancel because of the weather, it will take months for that to be rescheduled. Hospitals are a 24/7 operation and I will jump in and help wherever help is needed today as there are some employees who will jump at the chance to call out because of the weather.

I hear plows going by out there already. I'm up and ready to get a head start and get a good front row parking spot at work.

We really lucked out on this last storm. We only had a couple of inches of snow out of it. Makes me so sad - NOT!

I made it home from work. Very few cars on the roadways. All bars, restaurants and even grocery stores have closed. Drifting snow so hard to see how much we have got so far. Here's a pic of my birdfeeder and the chairs behind that have snow up to the seat.

I'm glad that you made it home okay, droopy. I hope that you won't have any trouble tomorrow. Is it still snowing?

We got another 3" or so overnight. The worst is now over. Good $$$$ for people that plow that's for sure!

We got lucky and had a lot less than forecast. We got 4-5 ish with sleet as well. But with some melting in the afternoons and refreezing at night, it's an ice rink. When I took the dog out this morning, the remaining snow was so hard that my considerable weight did not break through.

No more snow here other than that dusting on Sunday, and I'm grateful. But it sure is cold. I've seen damage on some of my plants. My crabapple was just about to bloom, so it might not bloom now and there might not be any fruit for the birds. I'm sure that birds and squirrels have been nesting and having babies since they thought it was spring, and I've been worried about them, plus worrying that a lot of their food source may have been killed.

Be careful with that ice, Ravzie.

Well, I bragged about missing out too soon. Wednesday morning, I got up to 4-5 inches of fresh snow. Not much of Michigan got hit, just the areas that stick out into Lake Michigan. Way down in the southwest corner, Big Point Sable, and Little Point Sable (where I live). It was just light, fluffy stuff, though, so it didn't make my commute too bad. By the time I got to work (35 miles south) there was practically no snow.

Since then, we've had another inch or two. I really wish it would just STOP and spring would come!
