Bringing out the margaritas, as we have another big snow storm coming in tonight. Most likely the kids will be out of school the rest of the week...

Hubster brought home the wrong kind of Sherry for me. Usually I keep Amontillado around but he brought home a Fino. Was reading up on it and Wikipedia said the Fino should be refrigerated and drunk within one day of opening! Or at least within one week! Geez... better get started since I opened is last night for my sauce.

Whoever mentioned whipped cream vodka? OMG. That stuff is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Mix it with root beer, and it's the best root beer "float" in all that land.

Absinthe
Have you tried absinthe since it is again legal in the U.S.? IMO it's okay for an occasional nightcap but not the sort of thing I'd make a habit of.

A study found that the average American walks about 900 miles a year.

Another study found Americans drink, on average, 22 gallons of alcohol a year. That means, on average, Americans get about 41 miles to the gallon. I wish my truck was that good.

I believe I read that beer saved the world because 100's of years ago, the water in England, etc was so putrid, that only the beer drinkers outlived the plague because the alcohol killed the germs.

dh and I are corona drinkers and only that.

This is true, the following was found on another forum:

As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom; in beer there is
freedom; in water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have
demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor, especially Bombay Sapphire Gin) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Therefore, it's better to drink wine/ beer and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of poop .
