Zoe, your siggy is compliant 312 X 100 - but adding the text under your siggy, might put you over the limit

Brent,
thanks for this post!

I find large gaudy signatures and images (and there are some really large ones out there) totally detract from the post/thread...

It's just unnecessary...
You point out all the good reasons why OLS limits the size, all make perfect sense...

Hopefully OLS'ers will get going and abide by this.

thanks again,
Happy Holidays,

I don't understand all the technical stuff but I was able to use the directions Brent posted and mine says 350 x 99. It says its 12155 bytes. I have no idea how to resize it if I need to, Nickyle made it for me in memory of my grandmother and aunt. Am I over? Do I need to see if Nickyle can change it for me?

Everyone who has asked about their signatures so far in this thread is fine. If it's at least close to the limits, we're not going to be real sticklers about it. Like I said, the main concern we have are the signatures that are way, way, way over the limits. For example, if the file size of your images comes to 12.5kb, you're fine. Or if the screen space your signature takes up looks like it might take up one extra line but it's hard to tell exactly because it contains an image or two, you're fine.

If your signature does happen to get deleted, we do usually make a copy of it beforehand. So if you need a copy of your deleted signature for whatever reason, send me, KB or another modertator a PM and we'll send a copy of it to you (if we have it).

Brent

If Nickyle made it for you I'm SURE its in compliance. I don't think you have to worry. I'm also posting here so I can click on my siggy's properties and see if I'm compliant.

I always worry about my siggy because I'm clueless when it comes to anything with numbers. I'm better at words; numbers of any kind baffle the heck out of me.

Could someone please tell me if my siggy is OK?
Thank you!!

Sorry girlie , I know you ROCK! I just don't think of the technical end of things so all I know is it was the butt crack of dawn this morning, I had only a smidge of coffee at that point and I see the thread on siggys! And I love mine so incredibly much I just panicked at the thought of having to delete it! So I'm relieved to find its ok!

Brent, is my siggy OK?
If not, I'll see if someone can resize it for me or I'll put something else up.

Size wise it is fine - but it is 20,816 bytes - OLS allows 12K - with flexibility around 13K

On a different note:

Another thing some people do is put a 350x100 (now 420x100) graphic and then text under it - that makes it bigger than the allowable sizes.

We are REALLY hoping that everyone will see this and comply - there are a TON of repeat offenders and out of compliance signatures right now.

I'm so glad I'm siggy free. I've got enough things around here to reduce w/o having to worry about my siggy
