I don't know anyone who still listens to 8-tracks but I did see a fellow buying an old vinyl record at a thrift shop the other day and talked with him briefly. He was happy to find something to play on an old antique that he had acquired and explained that it only played 78s, reminding me of the old wind-up Victrola that my grandfather had. I'll bet that machine is in better condition than most of the 8-track players that I recall.

My aunt suffered from that terrible disease, and my next door neighbor has an advanced state of it.

There is a restaurant in our city, but I've never been there. I do love cheese, though.

I definitely appreciate plants, and I like to get others to do the same. I just gave away some divisions of my oregano, lemon balm and mint plants to a new volunteer on Sunday.

I wish I had more luck with gardening. I try but can't do much with my limited space; had a good crop of cucumbers a couple years ago but tomatoes are usually disappointing and I love fresh, homegrown, tomatoes. Cantaloupe would be nice to have, also.

Cantaloupes and cucumbers take a lot of space, although there are compact varieties. Every year, my yard gets shadier, from all the trees, so I don't have as much luck as I used to, but I do put out 10 or more tomato plants, many of them cherry or grape plants, which don't need as much sun. I also have various peppers and herbs and I grow parsley and carrot tops for my bunnies. I also sometimes grow squash or eggplant. I grow some of the veggies in large containers. Better Bush tomato is a good one for containers.

Re: Ex-spouses, it would not be polite to kiss and tell, would it?

I like rubber erasers, they come in many shapes and sizes. What did we do before they were invented? Would you believe bread was used?
Joseph Priestley was a man of many ideas and I've been to his mansion The Joseph Priestley House where informative programs are held from time to time. He is credited with discovering oxygen and carbonation, among other things, (leading to what we now call soda) but until today I did not know about the rubber eraser.
