National Goof Off Day

I'll be happy to celebrate this day.

to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.

Melba Toast Day
National Chip and Dip Day
National Puppy Day
Near Miss Day

I haven't eaten melba toast in a while, but I like it. I haven't had any chips and dip lately either. I should remedy that. I know one puppy, that belongs to the lady across the street, although he's over 6 months old and maybe not such a puppy any more. I do hope that no asteroids collide with the Earth today.

I am not a big fan of Melba toast but it would have been okay with the spinach dip I have- guess I'll just settle for chips and dip (and beer) today.

Puppies are always fun and I would never object to being near an attractive miss.

Is that spinach and artichoke dip? That's very tasty. I have a few recipes for it, but I've never made any. I've only had it at a restaurant.

I think they're referring to a different kind of Miss.

Did you know that Melba toast and Peach Melba are related? I'd rather have peach.

I did not know that. I too would rather have the peach melba.

National Chocolate Covered Raisin Day

There are other chocolate covered things that I like better than raisins, but those are pretty good too.

I could have easily gone out and bought some chocolate covered raisins (yummy) but decided to try something different: I have both raisins and chocolate syrup so why not just combine the two? I poured the syrup over the raisins and, after a few hours in the fridge intend to see how that will do as an ice cream topping, or maybe on some waffles tomorrow morning...
