The only polar bear I'd seen today was on a Coca Cola can and it is doubtful that I'll see any more. Are you a member of the polar bear club? Do polar bears like strawberries? I had some for breakfast today. If I lived that far north, I think it would be important to have a good supply of Kahlua at all times.

I am not now and I'm sure I will never be a member of the polar bear club.

I've been in water that had ice on the surface but not sure if I qualify as a polar bear because I had scuba gear on.

I think that you just have to have a bathing suit or swim trunks on - no scuba gear.

I wonder if anyone ever takes the plunge in their birthday suit?

I am not surprised to learn that it's been done. Here is where you can, if so inclined.

I'm not so inclined, but thanks for the info.

I brushed mine about an hour ago, after lunch.

Today is also

Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday
Floral Design Day
Public Sleeping Day

I've never been to Mardi Gras. I'm not sure that I would like all the crowds and people who may have had a few too many. I like to plant flowers, but I'm not much for designing them. I would rather sleep in my house than out in public, so I guess I'll pass on that one too.

I almost fell asleep in the theater today while watching The Lego Batman movie and am glad no one had to awake me because I snore

I haven't been to Mardis Gras either but I imagine some of our festivals are close enough.

If someone was in back of you, they might have kicked your seat if you snored, so it's good that you stayed awake.

It's been very spring like here for a few weeks, with lots of flowers blooming.

March 1

National Pig Day
Peanut Butter Lover's Day

I won't have the opportunity to pet or interact with a pig today, but I'll will be celebrating by eating some peanut butter. I may not have plain peanut butter, but I will eat some Butterfingers eggs that I bought on sale a few days ago.

Pigging out on peanut butter candies sounds like a fun time but I should restrain myself and try to lose a few pounds before I see the doc on Friday.

I'm not sure how much weight you could lose in 2 days, so I say go ahead and have some peanut butter candy.

Old Stuff Day

When asking someone "What's new?" or "What's happening?", how often do you hear "Nothing really, same old stuff".

Well, today, is Old Stuff Day, in recognition of this all too common response. It is suggestive of a boring time period, or a boring life style. ....how sad.

Old Stuff Day is not a day to do the same old stuff. Rather, it's a time to recognize the boring nature of your daily routine, and make some exciting changes. Find new and different activities, projects, and hobbies. Attend an event. Do something, anything, different. You will be glad that you did!

Our task must be to free ourselves...by widening our circle of compassion
to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.
