October is fire prevention month
Sign on bulletin board:
"In case of fire don't panic. Simply flee the building with the same reckless abandon that occurs each day at quitting time."

Also, enjoy Frugal Fun Today

I'm very frugal and would enjoy some frugal fun such as a nature walk or hike, but we're having a deluge of rain here. Hopefully, others can have some frugal fun today.

I celebrate frugal fun all the time, at least until I get the big HOF win!

Maybe you can find some indoor forms of frugal fun, for now...

I'm not a vodka drinker, but Happy National Vodka Day to you!

I couldn't decide whether to start the day with a screwdriver or a bloody mary so I guess I'll wait 'til later this evening. It's been cool so a little whipped cream vodka with some cocoa might be nice. (BTW vodka is vegan).

Besides the items in that list, I would suggest volunteering. It could be at a local animal shelter or rescue, or nursing home, food bank, etc.

I already do some of the things on that list. I'll try to do more.

I try, because I believe in helping out others and helping the planet by picking up and recycling the litter I see when I'm out walking. I'm sure you do nice things too, awssm.

National Pierogi Day
Yummy, yummy! I miss mom's homemade variety but Mrs. T's are easy enough to find, or perhaps a church group nearby still makes them.

I have never had a pierogi, but I'm sure that I would love them!

I like 'em best sauteed with onions and they are great by themselves or accompanying any other dish that I can think of. They've always been a local favorite but, thanks to Mrs. T, they can now be found in supermarkets everywhere.

BTW, if you leave a comment on their FB site (until tomorrow), you could win a year's supply.
