1 day in Seattle, what is a must do?
So my son is about to embark on a huge adventure and move to the Seattle area with his best friend, and I will be driving with him up there then flying home. We should arrive sometime on Monday (4/2), and I will be headed home Wednesday afternoon. I hate that I can't stay longer and explore (this time ), but for anyone living in the area what is the best way to spend my 1 day?

I always enjoyed going up in the needle, but riding the ferry to see the islands is fun too. Depends on what you like.

Thanks for the suggestions! Ravzie, I have always enjoyed ferries, The Boy has never been on one so that will definitely be a must! Marilyn, I too thought of Pike's Place, and the garden looks amazing! Reminds me of a hotel in San Antonio with glass art, although I fear The Boy would not be as interested as me...(FYI I refer to my children as The Boy and The Girl, lol)

Whatever you do, remember to bring a raincoat. My son lives there so I always check the weather and it rains quite often.

I know it's past the time but if you go back, the Ride the Duck tour is a hoot. I was there the end of March with my son and we had a lot of fun on it. Also the ferry and music museums are good.

Cool
I was just there for one day...took the rail to the Stadium and watched the Mariners play the Dodgers. The food and drink concessions at the stadium are WONDERFUL. I also went to the Pike Place Market and The Space Needle.

and...I saw the Gum Wall https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gum_Wall.

After I wrote about the Duck Tour, that other boat sunk and killed all those people. I won't ever recommend it again.
